@SkiBum22 I have yet to try your number 1 from Lawson's. I will have to look for that. Thanks for the recommendations.

Had a Breakside "Lunch Break" one of the best beers I've tasted in a long time let alone an ISA

This is definitely my answer as well. It's technically a Pale Ale, but it's the only beer I've come across under 5% that has the nose of some of my favorite VT style IPAs. I'm still not sure I really believe that there's no actual fruit in it. The taste doesn't quite follow through on the smell, and it's a little thinner than I'd like, but it's really the only hop forward beer under 5% that I genuinely crave.

I don't dislike Founders', Notch's, Stone's or Lawsons' session beers, but if I'm being honest they are something I'll happily settle for rather than something I'm particularly excited to drink.

Just returned from Cleveland. Market Garden Brewery Hop Drive is wonderful. Complex hops, fuller bodied, and hop juiciness all at 4.5% abv.

Pinner to me keeps the aroma and to a degree, the taste of many regular IPAs. Founders All Day IPA and Send Help by 4 Hands are also pretty good session IPAs.

I'll echo what others have mentioned: NG Moon Man is the best session IPA/APA I've had, though it's not marketed as such. It's got considerably more hop flavor than--for example--All Day, has an ABV of 5% (just about the same as Pinner), and can be consumed by the six pack with ease. My ultimate go-to summer beer...and probably fall, winter, and spring, as well.

Putting a new one out there:
Little Green Dry Hop Saison - Flat Tail Brewing
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22194/97229/

It's categorized as a saison, but I'd venture to guess that anyone looking for a session IPA would appreciate it. Has a hop profile similar to Pinner IMO, with some additional complexity due to the saison base.

Despite attempts to put styles in straitjackets there is room for flexibility , saison and IPA were only loose names to begin with.
