Screw those guys they wont send you any unless you go in the store and they have it. I had ordered close to $200 worth of beer shipped to DE last year and asked multiple times for one bottle of cake and they wouldnt give me any. Salty? yes I was! Will I order from them again?... probably not

Well its probably cause you are a Flyers fan, and thus they (and the rest of the world outside of Philadelphia) hates you.

    I kid, I kid (or do I?).

But in all seriousness, CBX typically doesn't ship out limited release beers, which makes sense. You spent close to $200 on their products over the course of a year. Many locals spend that or more in a month. It only makes sense that a beer store takes care of their local customers before their out of state shipping customers. Usually with a beer like Mexican Cake they limit it to one or two bottles, even when making in store purchases, and it still sells out very quickly. If they started filling shipping requests for MC they would be swamped with requests and literally wouldn't have any for in store purchases.

Or they could do the alternative route like some of the West Coast stores I know (I won't name names) that will ship everything they have but they double, or even triple, the standard shelf prices of the beer. IMO that is even worse than not shipping at all.

Lastly, just as a suggestion, there's usually lots of MC FT on the ISO:FT forum. And in my experience trading for out of state beers is much more worth while than purchasing out of state beers from a store and having them shipped. Just a thought.

Loud, loyal and passionate my friend! Be ready when philly fans roll into town. If your coming to our house in any sport keep your mouth shut or dont plan on staying long! lol

$200 spent on one single order.... This was before I traded for my first bottle. All I wanted was a single. I was more so agitated that on the phone it was more so yes we probably have it but your not getting any no matter what. I completely understand keeping the locals happy but set a few aside for out of towners drum up some new customers grow your buisness everyone is happy.

Ill be in Charleston on our way to HHI in September maybe a better expirience then if I go in person?

and I quote....... Dr. Evil- "Throw me a frikin bone here!"

I've ordered MC from CBX two years ago, last year they wouldn't ship. I'd drive a few hours to get a few bottles.

CBX shipping as an anomaly in the retail world, be happy with what you can get and stop bitching

If anyone has been before - How is Mexican Cake released?
    Only local distro?
Can you go to the brewery and stand in line and hope to get a bottle allotment?

It is first released at the brewery. Last year, they only announced a few days before the release. The bottle allotment was only 6, instead of 12, because of some issues on the bottling line. They ended up having more at the brewery the next week. Westbrook does have distro on this and it usually make it out within a week of the brewery release. I would check Twitter/FB for details from them soon.

For those of you that have done the release before, is this one that people camp out for overnight? Does Westbrook even allow that? Wondering if i need to upgrade my tent game for this year....

No one camps out for the regular cake release. A line will form at the brewery once the release is announced.

If bottles are gone in under an hour and a half i would have thought camping out happens, ive seen other releases i.e. sexual chocolate where the bottles last way longer and people line up at midnight the night before, guess since WB doesnt give much notice this may be why as its not really a scheduled event, just dont wanna miss out since im a few hours out!

When I was in Charleston for my birthday last year it was the day before the barrel aged release. I asked what time I should be there and they said 4-5AM. My girlfriend kindly said I could go, because it was my birthday but she wasnt joining me haha.

I had the opposite experience -- the BAMC release was on my girlfriend's birthday last year.

As you can imagine, my beer-quest request was spectacularly rejected.
