does anyone know when cake is usually released or will be released? I will be driving down to myrtle beach from ohio the 2nd week of June and looking to stop by westbrook on the way there. Didn't know if I would get lucky and land some or not. Does the regular usually sit for a few weeks or sell out same day?

How quickly will it go? I'll be 20 min from brewery Memorial Day weekend and would love to be able to get it from the source.
The 2014 release was on Friday, 5/23 (the start of Memorial Day weekend). The release date was announced two days prior to that (5/21). However, I suspect that the release might have been pushed back to that weekend because the beer was not ready until then -- Westbrook stated in early/mid-May that they needed to add additional habaneros to the batch before it was ready. On release day they sold out in ~75 minutes. This was due to 1) large turnout, and 2) limited supply due to bottling line problems. They had planned to start bottling on 5/21, but could not start until 5/22 (the day before the release) due to a broken part on the line. Right before bottle sales began on the 23rd, a member of the staff announced that this was the reason bottle limits would be cut from 12 to 6. I'll be interested to see if they make any adjustments this year to the announcement, bottling timeline, and/or release organization. I considered last year a success (i.e. was very happy to get my 6 bottles!), but some folks at the front of the line were pretty sore about the last-second change in the bottle limit. A few people also managed to go through the line twice before the staff noticed and announced that this was prohibited.
We got lots of regular Mexican Cake in NYC two years ago, and some last year, although it was either noticeably less volume, or significantly more hype which made it disappear really quickly. Not sure but I imagine we will at least get SOME up here this year.
