Can anyone recommend some good Tennessee beers? Parents are going to Tennessee and always ask if they can bring me anything back. I have read some reviews but still not sure.
I visited Nashville recently. They have a nice local brew scene. Bars are filled with 75% local brews (Yazoo, Jackalope, Tennessee brew works). Problem is everything was just ok, nothing really memorable. TBH, I'd rather have a great bottle of whiskey from that part of the country.
Agree. I was in Nashville last summer and the beer scene was unimpressive. However, I brought back a couple of bottles of Blackstone's beers which were pretty good, and a bottle store had Good People's Monkeynaut which was a very good IPA.
Blackstone Black Belle (BBA Imperial Stout) http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/691/118369/ and Blackstone Chocolate Milk Stout http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/691/166592/ and Yazoo Sue http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/9020/51483/ is pretty good, especially for $5 for a 750 mL bottle.
Its Straight to Ale Monkeynaut. Good People has snake handler and their regular IPA, All great beers just different Alabama breweries.
