    That article is lacking anything close to representing scientific rigor. The link to their source is not a scientific journal but merely repeating anecdotal evidence like the rest of their garbage article. This is nothing more than fear mongering nonsense. Maybe the writer is hoping to kill the IPA movement so he can easily get his hands on the hard to find stuff.

    In 2007 I wrote a piece for All About Beer making a joke in it about man boobs, the only evidence to support the statement in piece was found by a Belgian friend on a Dutch Drag Queen website, not exactly a trusted scientific source . The bigger problem is late night food sins and greasy bar food to your man boobs, urban myth guys.

    That's not the only thing in that article that's a load of crap, either. It was tough to go a paragraph without finding something that was misleading, unsupported by any kind of evidence, or flat out wrong. (Example: apparently the Rheinheitsgebot affected all of Europe.....in 1512.....and everyone threw away all their "medicinal" beer recipes. There are three different statements involved in his claim, and all three are laughably false.)

    The author seems like a person I would LOVE to have a beer with. Just as long as the beer didnt have any hops or barley in it of course and only had herbs with a medicinal benifit.

    Similarly, I'd love to have a steak with him. As long as it contained no beef, wasn't cooked, and was actually just a piece of cardboard with the word "steak" written on it.

    OK. So now I can't drink beer from cans because of whatever it's called in the liner. I can't drink IPAs because they give me man boobs. Anything else?
    I scanned the article quickly. Aside from the fact that it's probably BS, I didn't see anything about what quantities this statement applied to. One IPA, one hundred IPAs, etc. Are DIPAs worse that IPAs? And has anyone ever heard of medicinal beer? Bottom line - another worthless article about craft beer written by someone whose knowledge of the subject comes from reading 3 other worthless articles.
