Grapefruit; or any fruit if it is not specifically a fruit beer (ala new glarus).

Coconut and licorice are too flavors that ruin a porter/stout for me.

It's definitely mint for me, too.

Artificial ingredients and meat. Other than that I am game to try it!

I'm ok with any additive as long as its intent is to improve the beer. If the adjunct is used to neuter the flavor or if it's a gimmick than I usually don't like it.

Coconut and vanilla are great if the brewers use real vanilla bean and coconut shavings versus syrups or liquid flavorings.

I can do without animal hearts in my beer... Breakside currently has a beer called Silence of the Lambs with lamb hearts. Upright made one called Captain Beefheart - with, you guessed it, beef hearts.

Also bacon bits. Rouge's Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale was an abomination. Haven't tried the but I'm willing to bet it's more of the same.

If done right, any additive can be delicious. ANY

I'm pretty flexible to trying out new things, but beers with testicle or beard yeast are not on the menu. Things I've found myself not too fond of in beer include mint and tea. I feel like there's a third, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment. I am sometimes leery of beers trying too hard, like Rogue's Voodoo Coconut Chiffon Donut or whatever. Kinda depends on the presentation, too, though - because Xocoveza and Bozo Beer were ingredient bombs, but I loved them both.

No one mentioned clam juice and tomatoes yet? Trying to blank that glorious experience from your heads, are ya? :astonished:

I'm going against the grain here, apparently...
fav beers = cherry rye, aun mas chili jesus, a bunch of coffee stouts.....

That being said, I'm not tolerant of every additive by any means...
Things I generally dislike: fruit in beers (other than cherries in stouts), artificial flavors, herbs (mint, corriander....) and spices, pumpkin...
Someone told me a cumin beer exists. I've had cumin cola... and let me tell you, cumin should never EVER be in a beverage. Nasty.

Oh, and voodoo. I don't like any voodoo near my beer.

I saw here on BA a beer that contains coffee processed by the digestive system of a weasel. That draws the line, added to beer or not.

I happen to like adding tomato-based beverages to beer.

I assume you're referring to those bud cheladas?
