Verified & Subscriber banners under avatars?

    Didn't see anything about these under people's avatars so figured like myself others may not know what these mean. Guessing "subscriber" is to BA magazine subscription but what's Verified ? Just recently noticed this. Excuse my ignorance if it's been talked about before. Thanks in advance.

    This seems to be an appropriate thread for feedback.

    It seems very likely that a majority of regular users are going to verify their accounts. I'm curious if the "Verified" banner will realistically mean anything at that point. Subscriber and Staff are useful tags, but if it ends up only irregular users and a handful of regular users who choose not to verify their account, then the tag seems a touch redundant.

    But we'll see; maybe fewer people will verify than I'm anticipating, and maybe it has great value for site admins to see, at a glance, whose account has been verified.

    For those of us who don't use the BA App, does Verification have any meaning? It doesn't look like it if I understand Todd's post correctly.

    For now, it's acting as a "thanks" and awareness tool.
    Account verification will definitely mean something. See "Why verify?" ... this is just the beginning.

    But you want verification using a mobile phone number, and if I can't do that with a valid phone number, then it is meaningless, right? I have a pay-as-you-go flip phone that I never really use except for an emergency (I don't like phones, so my wife has one), and my wife has a Windows phone, so she can't get the BA App, thus will either phone number get you/us anywhere?
