    Finishers:

Great table saison as always. Big flavors of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, hay, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness; with a nice crisp and earthy/spicy yeast finish. Very well carbonated. Very robust and flavorful for being under 4%.

Haven't bought a pack of this in a while. My go-to altbier. Flavors of big caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, and light nuttiness; with some moderate plum/apple yeast esters and herbal/earthy hop flavors. Great flavor balance overall. Really delicious and a good style example.

My go-to black IPA, just bought another 6 pack today. Bright grapefruit/mango/pineapple/citrus peel/piney hops and moderate roast/coffee/charred bitter malt balance. Very smooth moderately sticky/creamy hop malt finish. Approaching a bit more balance after 2.5 months since bottling, but still plenty hoppy.

Really delicious tripel. Balanced flavors of apricot, orange, golden raisin, pear, apple, light banana, clove, biscuit, candi sugar, and light pepper; with an overall well balanced profile of yeast and malt flavors. Very smooth and fairly crisp finish with slight creaminess in the mouthfeel. A unique but well executed take on the style. I just finished this pack, might pick up more, but it will more likely be the Amber if I am in a Belgian Dark Horse mood.

Ok. I'm having a Pliny night cap and I'll get him one plus some local good stuff- I get Zombie Dust weekly. Obviously I would hope a return package would be in store to taste stuff I can't get ahold of here :-|

Haha I just made friends. Cyber friends.

Awesome. I can also get Zombie Dust pretty much whenever I want to but I don't really get it very often. And you'll certainly get some good stuff in return. You don't have to worry about that.

And not to be a dick, I didn't mean Pliny - I just came home from No Cal and brought s case home and my post made it seem like I meant that. I'll get you a BCBCS tho. Cheers.

Been a long (but gratifying) day of cleaning, painting, etc at the new house. Time for some liquid goodness...

Port brewing's Lemon Yellow Sun APA (for the Homebrewers Conference)

Straw colored. Frothy head bursts forth with a normal pour.3-4 fingers high.
Smells a bit of lemon zest and oddly honeydew. But flavor is way too subtle. Slight lemon, but only slight. Mouthfeel is thin, as is the finish. Was hoping for a bit more.

Just cracked open a small growler of the Czech Pils from Buoy Beer Co. up in Astoria, OR. A really outstanding example of the style: softly malty, beautiful floral nose, crisp bitterness. At 6.2% the ABV is on the high side, but it is a superb beer.

I am raising a toast to Chris Squire, arguably the greatest bass player in rock and one of my musical heroes. He passed away today. Leukemia.

On to an Urban Chestnut Harwood Myth Porter. Watching "Endeavour" on DVR it is the prequel to the Inspector Morse series. Really digging it. I really enjoyed my 5 years living in Oxfordshire /Northamptonshire, this takes me back to be sure!

Too freaking funny! Although I never caught myself in the web of a less than accurate "N", I felt a bit of smug self assurance in posting pix using the clock on my stove as a backdrop!

One of my favorite Alice in Chains songs and one of the only songs from them that gives you the impression that they indeed chewed up the same earth as Soundgarden back in those days, as you could totally imagine hearing Love, Hate, Love on Soundgarden's Loud Love record.
