The Calling was pretty solid - I've bought it several times since trying it the first time. I've been spoiled by a lot of top notch DIPAs down south (Freak of Nature, Cosmik Debris, Boy King, and a lot more) so I wasn't really all that impressed with DirtWolf despite getting it less than two weeks old. Doesn't seem to be a ton of well-distributed regional DIPAs that are real standouts from PA/NJ/MD.

Flack or not for saying good things about German-style beers brewed in the US will depend in part on the time of the day and the phase of the moon.

Some people will never come around.

I'm a big fan of the Victory version myself so no flack from this corner.

I actually am a fan boy of Dirt Wolf. Saying that I was blown away with the Calling. I had it on draft right after the release and it was one of the best I have ever had.

Odd that some haven't seen it. Ever year my store gets it. Haven't tried it but im a little skeptical because of the banana that weiss gives off and its a darker beer. So if its like a toasted banana, that's not my thing but still open to trying eventually. Actually if my store still has it by next week ill give it a go

definitely has a toasty banana facet to it - but its deftly composed.

I guess I'm picking some up tonight, because I'm chubbing now

Can anyone speak to how well Moon Glow ages?

I only ask because I saw it on a shelf at a local shop in the "singles" area and needed one more bottle to round out my six pack. Didn't notice until I got home that it was from 2013 :-/

Obviously, i'll give it the old college try--you know, for science. But I wanted to know what to expect.

I got a four-pack out of season last year and it was already a bit rough around the edges. Post back what you think about the one you have, but I wouldn't count on much.

Moon Glow is great and I grab some every year!

Higher ABV, not a hoppier beer...eh, it may not taste half bad.

I actually aged one for 13 months to see myself....was VERY disappointed. Seems like this one is better fresh.

Tried this for the first time recently in a crowler. I bought a case the next week. I love this beer, and its been the perfect thing to put some space between my DIPAs

Fantastic beer, but unfortunately I cannot afford the $10 4-pack price tag. Not worth it at all....and this is coming from a guy who used to buy $12/six pack cases of 24!

Awesome beer! I got a case at the brewery 2 months ago but have still not seen it in retail stores near me. 45 minutes from Victory.

I liked this beer, appreciated the complexity from their yeast. Just thought it was a tad sweeter than I am used to for the style.
    Smooth as hell though

Not sure where you are located but I have seen a ton in Wegmans so if you have one near you, it's a safe bet it is now on their shelves.

I picked up a 4-pack and can't wait to dive in!

Picked up a 4 pack from Wegmans on Thursday. Solid beer...not my favorite style but it's a nice beer to drink this time of year.

Enjoying one right now. One of their better beers in my opinion and you're right, one that is still under the radar for many people.

I picked up Dirt Wolf when it first hit the market last year and it was only 8 days old. And I live in Arizona.:grimacing: Last I checked that's a bit more than 100 miles from Victory. We get a lot of their stuff out here and none of it has ever been "old" when it has arrived. I loved their beers when I lived in Virginia and I am glad they distro out to us now. Cheers!

I go to wegmans like 3-4 times a week. The one near me hasn't gotten any that I've seen.
