Expected as much RE the beer list. A friend of mind recommend and he's a pretty big food snob.

Anyone had the occasion to try out Crafty Jackalope in Bridgeville? Think it's new; their website sucks. We are often in the area and don't enjoy Sauce or Burghs or Armstrongs.

I'm just going to assume it'll be the South Hills. Yay.

@randylangford Do the MD stores have the opportunity to order the Mini kegs? Trying to figure out if I am going to hunt down a Hopslam mini keg in January or not.

Hope you enjoy the visit. The jalapno pierogies were legit.

    Negative.

Had the new Lagunita's beer on tap at Whole Foods last night. Pretty tasty.

Goddamnit. Errplace except the south. Hoping that the Whole Foods across from South Hills Village has as decent a beer showing as the others, when it opens. GE could use the competition and not just for beer.

When I went food was better then average. It wasn't mind blowing, but I enjoyed it. The tap list was solid with good options, but no rarez. We had randomly picked a night where a 40 person party showed up a hour early, so the staff did the best they could for us and tried to push our food out first. All street or public parking near Blue Dust.

The highest price growler we sell is $20. That's for a double IPA. Our growler prices are on par with any other brewery in the country.

Thanks for the note about the parking. God damn do I hate public parking.

@chefduff2 any other place out in that neck of the woods that you think is better? Just really wanted to avoid the chains.

Sadly, for non chain right in that area, Dorothy six is probably the best choice. There's blue dust for good upgraded bar food then there is Dukes for straight up bar food with improving beer list. Then of course the chains. We would run down to South side or regent square for food to get away from chains.

There's a decent authentic Hungarian place, a little rough around the edges and right on the tracks about three miles from the Waterfront, called Jozsa Corner. Think the dad/daughter live there and you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the tables, but it's an experience and the food is good. Set menu and BYOB.

EDIT: if you ever had Gypsy Café and liked it, this may be your kind of place.

We do but I'm not sure if the wholesaler will bring them into the market or not. I'll try to find out for you.

Would be cool if we got some of the earlier bottlings of hopslam this year so I can rule out another variable on the quest to determine why I no longer like it.

Don't consider it proper Mexican (no chorizo, etc.), but I can't think of a better combination of Mexican-ish food and good beer in or around the burgh. Pittsburgh is rather bereft of good Mexican IMO.

To be fair, I forgot that I purchased the actual growler itself along with the beer ($5 for each growler), which came out to $50.
