is there ever going to be an FwB party?

 

have a couple 1/6th barrels of each of the BA beers we just pulled out of barrels for a FwB party... was hoping to fit it in in-between Thanksgiving and Christmas but that clearly didn't work out yet.... so spring time?

also, we can now host one at our new, much larger, multi-bathroom, large parking lot, facility. it was impossible for us to host some kind of event in our old digs.

 

I would have happily peed on the rats in the alley off Wabansia but I guess I can use a bathroom. Can't wait.

 

You should open up SS and invite them, too before this party happens ;-)

 

the reason i asked was that, i believe the original kickstarter mentioned a part for all FwBs. I realize PW has taken on some additional partners since then and was curious if this was still in the works. Something about best intentions and all that, but of course, P-dubs keeping their word as expected.

related/unrelated, will WLV ship me FwB releases? I don't live in chicago anymore and have been using a proxy, but now that jerk is moving out of Chi too. it would be a lot easier to have the bottles shipped. it looks like WLV can ship out of state but i've never tried it.

 

I used to order and ship to NYC via WLV when my sister was out of town, but I swear they add a markup to the shipping cost. It got too absurd to order from them, so I stopped.

 

I kind of assumed the CCHW party at Castle Vav this year could have passed for that. But I do love the idea of something in the new space.

 

Does anyone have any of the NvU from the batch this week and know if they are dated? I just picked up a 4 pack for a trade and not seeing a date. Wondering if it's an old (very old) batch? I grabbed it off the back corner shelf that looked like it was new stuff ready to be shelved (grabbed some 12/7 antihero next to it).

 

I saw a similar thing with Lizard King cans the other day. As @Always_B_Closing mentioned in a prior post the date coder is not 100% reliable unfortunately. I don't think it can be determined which run they were from as it could be any run. I'd ask an employee there as they would know when it came in perhaps.

 

The store is pretty notorious for "higher" prices and not really rotating stock. I know their delivery is today and I purposely grabbed one from the cardboard in "the back" area (not where the other stuff is) that was next to close encounters that also should have came in today so I'd imagine it's the new batch but just was checking. And now that I check the Lizard King I got isn't stamped either

 

I don't think any of the last batch of Lizard King was date stamped. Picked up quite a few 4 packs and none of them were.

 

wonder if there was a canning line issue? i tweeted @NOTpipeworks but havent heard anything. regardless, we drank a can last night and felt like it was pretty fresh, either from yesterdays delivery or the one prior

 

it wouldn't be a canning line issue, it's a date coder issue, it doesn't work properly but a new one will be coming in so that this can be resolved. Currently I would ask stores when they received delivery of Ninja or Lizard, based on its arrival you should be able to determine pack date by using the batches section of the website. New beer always begins distribution on Mondays. If ninja was delivered on or after Monday 12.14.15 then it was canned on 12.11.15. Hopefully this helps a little.

 

@NOTpipeworks Are Glaucus cans in the plans for the near future? That was one of the canned offerings I was really excited to try.

 

Has anyone got an email from PW recently? The last one I got was from 12/3 about the BA beers. Also is Spotted Puffer dropping soon?

 

No emails but citra and pistachio abduction dropped today (according to the myriad of bottle shops I follow on instagram)
