Other than Matt confirming its 9 bottles in the 2016 thread, no. Its pretty safe we get 3 MW but what else is given is in the air.

From the last e-mail we received, "
    MEMBERSHIP CARDS
A 2016 Society membership card will be required for entry to the January Society Member Days in the Tasting Room. You’ll be able to pick up your card at the door to the Tasting Room. Make sure you bring your photo ID. If you have a receipt of your 2016 membership purchase, that will expedite the process (this can be printed from your order history on TheBrueryStore.com). Can’t make it to the Tasting Room one of those days? No problem. We’ll mail out membership cards to those who cannot attend afterwards. On days when the Tasting Room is open to the general public, your membership card gets you access to special Society beers, merchandise and growler fills at your discount."

Well shoot, I didn't want it to be true but have to say that this year's bottle of WC is a little off. It's not sour like I recall the 2013 bottles. But there's more bitter harshness underneath than when I've had it on tap (or in he 2014s that I drank promptly). Also darker as has been noted. It's still enjoyable to me (except for the wondering what might be off). Tomorrow I'll drink my 2012 and see if that adds anything worth reporting.

Unfortunately, I have to second this. I opened a bottle tonight.

I agree its a bit darker than I recall, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

But I did find some slight soapiness in the flavor. Definitely no sign of bacterial contamination.

On the bright side, the nose is still quite good, starting with chocolate fading to the barrel notes. Even the flavor is quite good, but it does have some off notes that make it less then the stellar beer we remember.

Alright 2015 is basically over at this point, anyone want to post any 2015 RS/HS Best of/Worst of? I'll throw some of my own thoughts out there:

Maybe I'm only noticing now that I'm a little more budget-concious than in previous years but I was really happy to see a good number of widely available, affordable and delicious beers - Jardinier, Hottenroth, Humulus Terreux, Gypsy Tart, Beret (hey wasn't this one supposed to be a "year round " release?) and Fourthmeal. I thought all of these were excellent beers at their price point and ones I could (and can still) stock up on at a reasonable price.

Pre-2015 I was pretty excited about the experimental series they were doing - Chronology, Elements and Arbre, and while they were all pretty cool, none of them really inspired me to purchase bottles. I've tried them in the tasting room, thought they were good and interesting, but that was it. I did buy a couple more Arbre beers (honestly I don't even know which ones) just based on the fact that $16 for a 750mL BA imperial stout was a great deal imo. I may end up buying bottles of the Elements series, we'll see, the beers are fine for $12 but haven't blown me away otherwise. I think the Chronology series kinda proved to me that 12months aging is the sweet spot.

The HS beers were somewhat of a disappointment this year - though maybe we were spoiled in 2014 when, in my opinion, the 5 or 6 HS exclusive beers were literally the 5 or 6 best beers the Bruery released that year. This year Bourgogne Blanc was a home run, M10 was pretty darn good. M11 was a disappointment (or maybe just not to most of our tastes)…and BT Reserve while awesome, how much MORE awesome it is than regular BT I don't know….that side-by-side comparison is on my short list but not one I can't do by myself. Flanders Giant - yes I'm actually one of the few who liked it, go figure…still curious to know the details on the blend if anyone has 'em….

Anyway - personal favorites of the year for me from Terreux were Souren, Confession and Ruebarb. Ride that Goat came out of nowhere, imo, and was way better than it had any right to be as well. I hope they make Humulus Rueuze again, I just feel like it's a style that can be amazing…but for whatever reason this one didn't meet my sky-high expectations. Chocolate Salty BBLs I think is really good and deserves more credit….Juggling Walrus' is probably the only new 2015 Bruery beer I haven't tried yet but I hope to soon.

Anyway, that's enough - time for the next MT beer from the Costco pack I bought yesterday. Cheers!

Anyone else experience infection with 2014 Mash and Grind?

Just opened one with a buddy and it is straight sour with no coffee detected whatsoever... Such a disappointment. I remembered this beer being amazing...

Yeah it was a thing, discussed around page 90 of this thread. I believe an email went out and they wanted you to take a picture of your bottle batch date and send in.

Did you post this on Untappd as well? If not, someone else posted that theirs was also infected though many others didn't note the same problem.

2012 WC definitely smoother underneath than 2015. Choco a little faded, But that's as expected. The 2015 isn't bad and I'll buy more bottles if given the chance, but here's hoping that for WC 2016 they can dial it in like it was before. Happy New Year.
