I'm pretty sure I'd watch that!

 

I know its probably sacrilegious on BA, but ABV is one of my considerations when you get in the $15+ price range (with one exception being the recent Spiteful releases). Just hard to justify IMO.

 

In season 2 we could do a spin-off show called 'Neck Beards' where you watch guys drinking whales and waxing lyrical for 20 minutes about them...

I decided to call LP and Lakeview Binny's - sold out. Not a surprise, but I figured I would call as I know sometimes at least LP will have more stuff in the back beyond what is at the customer service counter.

 

Just being sarcastic sorry to offend guys. I'm just bitter about not getting my rar. beers. Actually I'm really trolling because I don't even want this beer- I still haven't drank the one bottle I was able to get last year...

 

With each thread like this, Chicago beer scene makes me more sad and amused at the same time. My friends in rural Bumfuck, South Dakota, go through far less hassle getting some of these types of beers than I do in Chicago.

 

I didn't love it at FoBAB, but I have before, so I was willing to give it another shot.

 

I wasn't blown away by it at fobab either. The vanilla was there but the moutfeel was thin and not as much barrel character as something like VR.

 

I don't think it's ever had the barrel character of a BCBS, but I like it for the same reason @bshadley7 does; it's got a really great vanilla taste to it. VR is more balanced, but I don't want balance in my beers (generally).

 

Have no idea why someone would start a thread on this and expect useful info like it's 1998. Should rename it complaints about the Chicago Beer Scene and the comments would be more appropriate to title. So anyways while I'm here, Now a days in Chicago because of the internet the only way to get bottles is foot work and establishing relationships. My lazy awkward self has no chance, I blame New Money.

 

While a lot of it IS new money, it's not really the internet that's alerting people, it's the fact that some of these guys can be told "it'll be in Thursday morning/early afternoon," and they've got the time to camp out and wait until it gets there. Sure, relationships help, but really, having infinite time at your disposal (during the work week, when shops get beer) is REALLY what'll get you what you want.

 

Thanks for the heads up, managed to grab a BA Yeti before they were all gone.

 

I've had it a few times in the past and thought it was a little thin. Kind of like a Breck Vanilla Porter with a couple more abv points. I'm shocked it flies off shelves so fast, but I guess it's a low bottle count and has vanilla.

 

Did it change that much from previous years? That beer was all over the trading forums last year and supposed to be top notch!
