So, I live in a small country and the choice for BA beers are very small(+expensive as hell). I tried some bourbon BA like dragons milk or Mikkeller beer geeks etc... They are great, I love the woody, vanilla character but most of the time I felt the barrel characters were too overwhelming.

The most tasty BA beer I ever had was Prairie Apple Brandy Noir. The apple brandy character was so awesome!!! Want to here about your favorite BA Imperial Stout, or favorite barrels for aging beer.

Several years ago purchased evil twin bourbon barrel bisocott break for 24.99 a bomber. It was absolutely delicious. Just saw again a few months ago and got really excited until I saw they jacked up the pricey to 44.99. I reluctantly had to pass for that price.

Wow. That's some ridiculous price gouging on the store's part. I picked up a bottle of BA Biscotti on 12/23 here in Chicago at The Beer Temple and paid $24.99.

Last year purchases 12 o bottle of Olde dubh 1991 whiskey barrel aged old ale for 15.99. I told my self this better be the best beer I've ever had for that price. I drank it during last year's super bowl and was blown away. I guess truly great beers come at a high price. If one can afford it it's worth tring once. It's been on the shelves for several years here in michigan. I guess most people don't want to pay that much for a single 12 oz bottle and I don't necessarily blame them.

Any of the Voodoo Black Magick variants. It's the most perfect beer I've ever had.

I think apple brandy/calvados barrel aging is fantastic too. One of my favourite beers of 2015 was this Calvados barrel aged wild: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16996/157825/ . Just fantastic.

I've also found I really like stouts aged in brandy/cognac barrels (I prefer cognac and armagnac to bourbon as a drink in itself, so i guess this is not surprising). This is my favourite and I make a point of taking the day off work to line up for it each time it is released: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28820/92100/

That said, according to my ratings, my favourite BA stout is BC Vanilla Rye.

I'd have to go with High West-ified by Lagunitas. I'm a bigger fan of rye whiskey than I am bourbon, and one of my favorite rye whiskies happens to be High West Rye Whisky. I don't think words can describe how much I loved this beer. I'm hoping they release it again this year!

I'm ashamed in myself for almost forgetting about this beer. Love the name and the brew!

My top three would have to be:
    Perennial BA Abraxas
    Side Project Derivation (all four)
    Goose Island BC Vanilla Rye

Vanilla Noir is the one that I've felt the all around the strongest reaction for. Honestly, pretty much any of the Prairie BA stouts are high on my list.

Bourbon County is reliably always good.

I was told in a post last night that hi west was sitting in barrels as we speak in Chicago. I can only how it's true. $8 a bottle was a steal. I bought a case. Will buy another if it comes back

    Enjoy
