I respectfully disagree. Take 66 to 81 to 77. 70 mph pretty much the whole way, a pretty drive through the mountains, and pretty much no cops because it's all trucks (and all the truck drivers talk, so when their are speed traps you see the brake lights from miles away). I can regularly do Charlotte to DC in 6 hours flat on this route.

Add 77 to 485 (Inner) at Exit 19 to Matthews.

DO NOT go 77 to 485 Outer (Exit 2). 485 Outer is a parking lot from I-77 to Providence Rd from 3pm until 7pm. 485 inner from N. Charlotte is nothing.

Also @HopAttack3 if you do go 66-88-77...There are MANY MANY MANY cops from the Hillsville, VA area to the NC border. They give no breaks. It's the counties only source of income. Trust me.

You can both go to hell. #gopack

Having lived in NC most of my life except for the 3 years I lived in DC (and worked in DC for 4 more years while living in NC), DC traffic is definitely worse than Charlotte's in general. However, 77 at 'rush hour' (the 4 hours or so of it, twice a day) is worse than anything DC has, even the mixing bowl. The difference is that the mixing bowl in DC is a pain in the ass regardless of whether its rush hour or noon on a Saturday.

Wish I could add something about the festival itself, but I keep end up forgetting about tickets and not being able to go

Thanks again to @marine1975 and @brawleys for putting on a stellar show and beer event.

Although I have to say, there was one line (Wooden Robot) where I had to wait almost a full minute to get a beer. Might have to work on that for next year :grinning:. There is no better festival in the area.

What happened to The Answer Brew?

I asked Shane about it Saturday. They couldn't get approval by ABC for them to pour this out of state beer. You need special permits when pouring a beer that is not available in your state (at least legally you do).

So my guess is @marine1975 and @brawleys are sipping on the kegs at home! Bastards!

@kell50 @NoMoreBeerBelly Yep I jumped the gun on The Answer. I thought it was a done deal but at the last minute our great state of NC kicked it back and we had no time to resubmit for approval. As much as I would love to say we are sipping on those kegs, unfortunately they never left the state of Virginia. Maybe we will have better luck next year. For any of you guys headed to Hunahpu Day make sure to check out The Answer as they will be pouring down there.

    Cheers!

The beer list is pretty much complete!

As always expect a few surprises and possible changes to the list. We are switching it up a little this year as part of Black & Blue will be outside for the first time. Please dress with that in mind. There will be breweries outside as well as a live music.

    Cheers,
    Shane
