Dark Lord Day 2016

That sucks for this guy. The worst thing I saw was a totally ill-prepared couple who showed up dressed for 60/sunny weather. He had a t-shirt and jeans on and she had heels, jeans, and a long sleeve. They both looked like they were going to freeze to death by noon. Hope they made it. I probably could have offered a pair of pants to them, I was wearing three pairs but I was still cold.

I wasn't sure how it'd worked in years past.. I suppose this makes the most sense.

 

They took your name and a copy of your license at the pub. Then you picked up the handwritten ticket at the booth at the north gate.

 

More from last year...My girl went on a porta-potty adventure, guy in front of her was super drunk. Once the guy managed to get into a box, he ended up falling out of it backwards with his pants down to his ankles, right into the mud. SO glad my eyes didn't actually see it.

It was my first year. Will the lack of GA tickets limit these types that were on the verge of alcohol poisoning last year? Or should I expect more of the same?

 

I heard this year was limited to 6000 tix. Any truth to that?

 

There are always some people who don't pace themselves and are passed out before noon at DLD.

We don't know how many tickets were sold, just speculation. Usually we get some numbers just before or after the event when some newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune or NWI Times report on the event, they may get a statement from FFF on the number of tickets sold.

 

Just curious, does anyone know where I can find the tap lists for past Dark Lord Days? Could be tricky, I know they change over the course of the day. I'm interested to see if FFF brings out some deep cuts from their own beer lineup even though the guest taps are epic.

Any help would be much appreciated.

They usually have their current offering on tap and will have past DL vintages and variants on tap through out the day.

Any news on when tickets will ship?

 

I think they said two weeks before DLD? It was mentioned during checkout, I think, so I only vaguely remember (too much captcha action for my brain that day).

I keep looking at my calendar, thinking that I'm reading it wrong. Monday is the 4th of April, not the 6th.

In 2015, the 6th of April was on a Monday though.

 

They haven't published a draft list since about 2011. Scroll through the posts from last years DLD thread after the event people talk about what they were able to try.

As far as deep cuts - In years past some of the rare FFF beers I've gotten pours of there - 2009 BVDL ('13 DLD), 2011 woodford reserve Dark Lord ('14 DLD), FFF Rue d'Floyd ('14 DLD), Cat moves ('13 DLD).

No, the guy working at the kiosk told me about the same number as last year.

 

You are correct, but that's definitely the confirmation email that I received on March 5, 2016. I wonder if they copied the info from last year and forgot to update the date.

 

Including last year's GA?
