Last time I went it was a Wednesday night at about 8:00 and it was going to be 1:20 wait. I think it's very hit and miss during the week, but yes, weekends are a must avoid.

I only go to Shakopee for horse racing, so might be worth a trip by there after I lose my money.

I've sat at the tables, and only ordered beer. This was in Feb.

whats the point of rumors if no one will spread them? quit beating around the bush people, what are these "rumors" about an announcement?

I didn't see any rumors hinted at just conjecture

Correct. No rumors just opinions that Surly would be attractive to a buyer or investor.

Courtesy of our friends at The Growler and Minnesota Business Magazine:
Bold prediction: One mid-sized Minnesota brewery will sell to one of the big guys in 2016.

*We've discussed the candidates in other threads (I can't recall which), but Surly is without a doubt the top dog in the beer business in the state of Minnesota.

Exactly. The beer geeks here and at the other well-known beer geek website agree that their beers rate* the highest.

Top-ranked in terms of social media prowess? Sure, after all this is the social media age.

If you communicate with folks in the beverage industry outside of the upper midwest, nobody wonders about this too much. After all, Minnesota isn't California, Colorado, or Oregon, and no Minnesota brewery has yet made the sort of impression that a larger upper midwest-based, regional brewery -- such as Goose Island -- has.

That's not to say that such an impression won't be made before long, and the large breweries are even better than we hobbyists in figuring out which brewery to approach, and where to send their hundred million dollar (billion?) offer.

*Over at Thrillist (obligatory clickbait from moi? Surely) the yokels have them slotted in at #5.

The $6.50 Coffee Bender can is the only one that stands out to me. Everything else seems to be in line or below what bars in Iowa are charging.

Just got back from Surly. I walked in and Todd was sitting at a table looking over blue prints and design plans with a group of men. I didn't get a close look on passing but something about spelt grains I saw. Anyway, that doesn't give me the impression of a brewery possible for sale. Just my thoughts on any rumors.

I think the plans are related to the space they own next door.

A .50 cent increase has you in a tiffy? K. These prices are all cheaper than any pubs offerings so you better be prepared when you step into the big city needing a thirst quencher.

Took my daughter up to "The Mall" this weekend... Thought we'd stop into Surly to grab some grub and beer, but evidently EVERYONE else had the same idea. There was an hour and fifteen minute wait. I don't think they're hurting for business.
We grabbed a 4 pack of Todd and Chickfila and went back to the hotel.
