The Veil Brewing - Richmond

I'm excited about it, its one of my favorite styles.

 

I love the name and the can, but nope I'm not excited about an overhopped pilsener with new school nugz. Just call it an IPL. I'm sure it will taste fine either way, though.

 

Easy in and out today. I suspect there will be no issue with cans lasting a bit, so I did see a number of perople snagging case limits. I'm a big fan of pilsners, perfect for this hot RVA weather, so I'm pumped for that one. Expect it next week or the following. Have also heard there may be another "Broz" beer coming out soon.

 

Posted to a group page around 7 tonight. Looked like only about 30 or so cases of CT and maybe a little over 50 of Idont

 

Here's the accompanied pic of what all was left that as of 7pm last night per their post. May make it through today but I definitely don't anticipate either making it past Thursday.

 

I agree 100%, especially with them selling 40 cases of MS on Wednesday last week - thanks for posting that. I wonder how much more they moved between then and closing. I feel good about getting some Idont today, just hope I can get there in time for some CT.

 

They just posted 11 cases of CT left, 31 cases of Idont. So yeah, they definitely moved a good amount between 7 and closing last night. Not feeling great about getting CT today.

 

At the very least you can get the "special treat" taproom only mention tonight. My guess is some new beer on tap...

 

Oh no doubt! AND Idont. AND dinner at The Answer. I am not complaining about the fantastic beer options in RVA. I was just hoping for some CT for the holiday weekend and to share with a friend coming for a visit from out of town next weekend.

 

Crucial taunt sold out at 4:15 but I made it!

 

And all cans sold out 5:10.

 

Their first small batch (New Sun Saison) from the 3bbl system did not tap yesterday per a post I saw. Looking for that to go on today.

Veil also hinted at pre-filled Crowlers for Tomorrow (Sat) so expect that.

 

Tomorrow is friday. Think they're doing them friday or saturday?

 

Oops! My bad! Head is already on holiday weekend time! Would be SATURDAY for Crowlers.

 

Waiting in line we saw that on the board and got excited. At first they just said "it isn't tapped yet." After an hour or so at the bar I asked again if they knew when it would be and was told they were carbing the beer and it could be ready any second but they didn't know. I would have liked to try it but glad I didn't wait around since it didn't make it on last night at all.

Such a fun place - I was lucky to make it there 2x this month but no clue when I'll be able to get back.

 

New Sun Saison has been confirmed to tap TODAY at opening (4pm)

Beginning at 12pm tomorrow, we will be releasing pre-filled crowlers(filled just before doors open) of the following beers:
~Crucial Taunt-8%-flagship double IPA($12; approx. 60 crowlers only)
~Master Master Shredder Shredder-5.5%-double dry-hopped IPA($11; approx. 60 crowlers only)
~Hornswoggler-7%-robust chocolate milk stout($10; approx. 20 crowlers only)
~IdontwanttoBU-6.9%-0 IBU IPA($11; approx. 60 crowlers only)
~New Sun-6.1%-Saison($10; approx. 15 crowlers only)
~Dirt Nap-8.8%-Double IPA($12; approx. 60 crowlers only)

There will be NO LIMIT on these crowlers. First come, first served. These crowlers will ONLY be pre-filled. We are not set up to be able to fill crowlers on demand, so once they are gone, they are gone until the next announcement of crowlers being available.

We also have decided to be open this Monday July 4th for limited hours! From 12-5pm, stop in and celebrate Independence Day with us.

We hope to see everyone tomorrow for the release and on Monday July 4th from 12-5pm!
