I was there on vacation two weeks ago and this was my favorite brewery out of the 6 I visited. Came home with the saison chene rustique and some purple drink. But the apricot saison was fantastic. The guy working told me it was bottle conditioning and that it would be out soon. Can't wait for it to be released and have a friend send me a few.

Apricot foeder saison goes on sale online Saturday, I figure in house bottles at some point as well.

    Saison Chêne Rustique d' Abricot

    Foeder Aged Saison w/ Apricots
    ABV: 7.8%
    BARRELS: Oak Foeder
    AGED: 4 Months
MICRO-FLORA: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Brettanomyces bruxellenis, Lacotbacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus brevis and Pediococcus damnosus
    ADDITIONS: Fresh California Apricots
    TITRATABLE ACIDITY: 14.1 g/L
~ This variant of our Rustic Saison has Apricots added to accentuate the already complex characteristics of hay, citrus and oak with deep stonefruit flavor and aroma.

I really like what Toolbox continues to produce, but price point is the only thing turning me off these days. Hard to pull the trigger at $24 a bottle. Pretty high up there in comparison to other options. I know they aren't far from Lost Abbey, but damn...

Agreed, wish the pricing was more in line with Monkish.

Abricot is a ridiculously jammy beer. Fantastic job with that one Toolbox! Definitely pulling the trigger on some bottles!

Would you mind describing the taste?

I found the standard drank to be a simple, one note brew but the barrel treatment and fruit addition has me intrigued. Cheers!

Very jammy and sweet berry. Very upfront with fruit much like the saison chene de abricot. The flavors of the barrel are subtle but present, it comes just before the taste of the berries and the tartness which is nice. The barrel smell is also present and subtle but is slightly over shadowed by the berries. If you liked chene abricot this beer is right up your ally. Overall I will buy a couple bottles because I think with a little time the berries will mellow out to my liking and it will be a very good sour.

Hope to see/meet some of you at our next release on Thursday 1-12-17: Truth From Heart. If you liked Mackinaw, then you will love this beer. Truth From Heart is our Milk the Funk Collaboration # 2 saison which was barrel fermented & aged for 6 months in French Oak Pinot Noir barrels with 4 pounds of fresh CA White Nectarines per gallon added. Refermented in the bottle for 4 months. Cheers!

That new bottle release sounds fantastic.

I was up at the brewery over the weekend and both the raspberry and cherry aged sours on tap were lovely. I didn't much care for the plum though.

I'm a little surprised these sold out so fast. Stone fruit FTW, I guess.
