I was just curious. what does everyone do with their empty bottles, when they're done? Especially those hard to find ones you've been searching for. Do they go directly in the trash? On the shelf? labels taken off?

I personally keep every label I can manage to peel off the bottle. I have a binder where they make their way into separate categories, to serve as a reminder. Over 150 labels so far. Many Of them I wished I saved years ago :slight_frown:: They're also pretty cool to look at. I keep the caps in a mason jar. I also keep a top 10 list of bottles on my shelf. Beers I feel are in my top 10, until something comes along and beats it out.

I used to keep my BA 95+'s above my kitchen cabinets. Then I moved. Some things just aren't worth bringing along with you. Moving is a huge pain in the ass. Especially when you're downgrading from a 2BR to a studio. Empty bottles just didn't make the cut. I gave a few away to a friend who drank them with me for him to display at his place and I have a bunch of caps in a bag still. I would like to display them under glass on a small table one day. I'm also using a few caps to make bottle cap boutineers for my upcoming wedding.

I personally save all my Rogue bottles after a good rinse as well as some rarities
and they appear here and there around the abode. What I have a huge collection
of is 6 pack containers which fold nicely and store out of sight till I can find
some nice picture frames for the more loved ones.

    Awesome icon by the way

Recycling. Shelf space devoted to other things so not even tempted to save anything related to beer.

The new wave of cool cans is the way to go for above the kitchen cabinets---love them personally and they are light enough not to bring the house down!

I'm not usually a collector or a sentimentalist, but when Pretty Things announced they were shutting down I saved a bunch of their labels.

When it's time to wheel the recycling bin out to the curb each week, I add all the cans and bottles at the last minute so the ancient immigrant ladies helping to put their grandchildren through medical school by rummaging through recycling have easy access to 'em.

See, i love glass bottles, I can't stand the sound of an empty Aluminum can. That's what makes the world great, everyone is different.

I know what you mean :slight_frown: I've lost so much stuff from constantly moving around. It's hard to keep track of everything. I have OCD and I'm a collector, so I collect just about anything and everything lol. Like the ideas though!

I used to save this stuff then realized it was not worth holding on to. There are so many bottles and caps and labels that really it came down to what will I do with it all so it got tossed. I think you have fun with it till you need more room for other stuff then it grows old. Like my shot glass collection, I must have 200 shot glasses from all over world now they sit in a big box.

I've seen some pretty cool Rogue bottles that were cut, and turned into cups. I would like to get a glass cutter and do that to a few of my beloved bottles.

Remember, "Broken hearts are for assholes" haha ZAPPA was the best!

When it comes down to it, It thinks it's easier to just keep the labels. I have over 150
In that binder, and it takes up the same amount of space as a book. 150 bottles would be a nightmare during an earthquake lol I plan on making a giant collage with the labels some day.

I tried, but they take up too much space.

I had a buddy who kept all his unique bottle caps to eventually make a mosaic of them on a coffee table. Eventually, he outgrew the idea before he had a chance to finish it, and started working overseas anyway, so not sure what happened to all those caps.

I save, but don't seek out, old bottles and cans and put them on random shelves on my "beer wall". I also save painted-label 22oz bottles for a future beer chandelier. See what l do with my caps on this link to another current thread...What do you do with beer caps?

Go to Ebay and type beer and then hit the brewerania link on the left. Narrow your search and then find someone out there who has space for all that beer related paraphernalia.

    Cheers

I have about 1,300 bottles lining the walls of my man cave on shelves that I made from 1x4's. Here is a cut-and-paste collage of about 50' of wall space.
