If the Ocktoberfests are out already then its time for me to bring this stein out. Brought from Germany by my Grandfather in the very early 1900's, one of my favorite memories of him and one of my most cherished possessions. Cheers!

That's friggin hilariously awesome! Wish I could hear it. Good to see it getting some good use instead of collecting another 20 years worth of dust. Cheers!

Cricket Hill American Pale Ale, a nice Pale ale from a local brewery.

    All personality, this one.

Not as great as I expected, as the nose was very faint and the flavor was muted...but not a half bad Trappist ale.

Any info on if it will still be available in Wisconsin in October when I cross that state line?

Thanks and there is something extra special about drinking a beer from it. Not that I'm sucking up or anything.

Totally understand. I have a collection of steins that I am very proud of. There is nothing quite like the feel they give off to a beer. Not to mention keeping them cooler and free from little flying friends!

@Highbrow I see you and raise you one :grinning::wink:
Decided to start with a good rainy day beer like this one. I have a bomber of Secret Sauce #6 that I am dying to try, though!

If it were any other limited release in any other state, I doubt it would last until October. But since New Glarus is only available in Wisconsin, it depends on where you shop.

Even as a limited barrel brew, I've seen the Thumbprint series beers available at smaller retailers -even the dodgiest of gas stations- throughout the state, long after initial release. So my advice would be to hit every gas station and drugstore between La Crosse and Madison.

Happy Hump Day, BAs! Starting off with this lovely number as part of my weekly Tired Hands line-stand pregaming ritual.

Turned a quick 5 mile run in the rain and the final tuneup for a 5k in Chicago Friday evening. I stopped at a liquor store afterwards and ran into this old friend. Damn, it's been too long since we've seen you in bottles. This is as good as I remember and one of my favorites of the season.

Up next (and closer all the same):
Continuing the new beer humpday theme for me.
    Double Jack!!
Gosh. What a thick, syrupy and chewy delight. Quite resinous and the smell almost reminds me of Lagunitas DIPAs. I have to say that I certainly prefer the Maine/New England style DIPAs. This was was a genuine palate take over beer.
    Cheers.
