What's my best bet to find lambic bottles in Portland? Any shops carry Cantillon or Drie Fonteinen?

They carry them, but Cantillon is probably not available anywhere at the moment. Maybe Apex with their huge markups?

Just enjoy the local Oregon beer. Ale Apothecary is probably what you're looking for.

Arch Bridge is listing bottles of
Drie Fonteinin Zwet.be and Drie Fonteinin Beersel Blonde. Thought I also saw some bottles over at Growler Guys on SE 8th as well, but I'm not sure about that.

I really enjoy Pfriem lambics out of Hood River. I believe they bottle four different variations.

Last time I saw Cantillon at APEX, it was $90 a bottle. I was at BeerMongers on Saturday. They had a few Ale Apothecary beers - including Ralph, which is my favorite.

The blueberry sour - Blåbær - is exceptional. Their Flanders Blonde is also amazing.

I have to imagine that this surprises no one.

I'm now on the lookout for Ralph this weekend when I'm in Portland. Only had the Sahalie and La Tache from Ale Apothecary. Just usually a bit pricey for me. Although it would probably be easier to buy if it was sitting next to a $90 bottle of Cantillon.

I've had all of their lambics except the blueberry (and loved each of them). I picked up a blueberry this weekend so I'm stoked to try it out. I've heard from multiple sources both here on BA and around the region that the blueberry is the best of their lambics (thanks @John_M).

Your mileage may very of course, but I thought the pFriem Blaubaer one of the stars of puckerfest week. I know Lisa Morrison was so worried the small keg Belmont Station got wouldn't last, that initially you weren't allowed to get a full pour of it. Sample size glass pours only!

I've been favorably impressed by all their lambics, but the Blueberry was definitely a standout (IMHO).

To no great surprise, the IPA's on offer were outstanding. At least for me, the two best beers I tried were the All Due Respect from Cloudburst and the Don't haze me bro from Great Notion. The latter was a revelation, as it was not made in the NE/Vermont style (minimal haze and incredibly dank!). Obviously, the brewer at Great Notion is fully capable of making world class IPA's that aren't comparable to the NE version, if he so chooses.

So I see a bit of Airbnb talk in here, and please forgive me if this isn't appropriate, but I Airbnb my guest room, and given my setup and location (inner SE), it quite obviously caters to beer people.

I consider myself a pretty decent beer ambassador for Portland, so if this warrants future inclusion in this thread for recommended places to stay, I'd welcome it.

    Cheers!

I don't know if it rubs against the site's views on commercial solicitation, but I think links to accommodations from members plugged into the local beer community is a great idea.

A quick scan of this thread didn't reveal anything, so are there any recommendations for kid friendly breweries w/ food, beer-centric restaurants? Have been to Deschutes many times with the family and love it there, but looking for something new.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a spot to watch football on Sunday? Just looking for a place that will have a lot of games on and won't be too tough to grab a table. Cheers!

The last part of your post is the problem. In every other way, Blitz Ladd and Claudia's would completely fit your requirements, and both places have a pretty decent beer selection as well (Blitz has a very good beer selection, but their food is so-so. Claudia's has better food, but their beer selection isn't nearly as good as what you'll find at Blitz).

Blitz is considerably larger than Claudia's, so I guess it would be my recommendation to try your luck there. Either way, if you want to be sure of getting a table, don't wait till half time of the 10:00 games to roll on by. Good luck.
