Join us on Sunday, November 20th, for a special brewery only release of N. 41 in our Barrel-Aged Series – Dui Cochi. This festive holiday porter has been aged in bourbon barrels with coconut, spices, and pumpkin added.

Starting promptly at 1:00pm, Dui Cochi will be available for purchase. Limit one case per customer ($12 per bottle). If the buzz around the brewery is any indication, this will sell out quickly. - per their FB page.

Very, very interesting. Hopefully this is a worthy successor to Momi.

Didn't notice an ABV on their FB announcement. Hoping they're back up into the high-teens. That seems to be flavor-country for me with the gold foils.

This is interesting. They were planning to release a rum BA coconut porter in May that would have been the third variety in the year-round Botanicals & Barrels series (green foil), and then last minute that got scrapped, changed to bourbon BA coconut porter, and then never released from what I can tell.

I'd love to hear the full story behind this some day. Really can't wait for this brew, though.

I saw on Avery's Twitter today that Momi will be included on the cellar bottles for sale. I can't imagine the price tag.

The last few Momis I've had were messy at best. I'd pay a lot for a new batch but I dunno if I'd even pursue batch 1.

Anyone have any idea how long these bottles will stick around? I was hoping to go around 4, but want to make sure I get some bottles. Shikes said they're likely to sell out, but I don't know what kind of time frame that will happen in

Unfortunately no one can really say... I don't think any of the brewery-only releases have actually sold out on the first day, but I could be wrong. The adjunct list on this one make it seem like it could... but the pumpkin is a red flag for some folks (none of my friends going are planning to max out). Call before you drive to be safe, but the bottom line these days for any release is if you really want it, be there early enough to guarantee it (and that means EARLY).

Anyone try Dui Cochi yet? Wondering if it lives up to the pre-release buzz from the brewers...

Its good. Pretty light-bodied for 18.5% IMO. To me, its reminiscent of Pump[KY]n in its body and spice and bourbon character. Not bad, but not my favorite.

Also as a PSA, the guys working the release said that the bottles should stick around for a couple hours yet

Agreed. I thought it was thin, even if it was a porter and not a stout. Also was hoping for more coconut, though I was happy to taste and smell the coconut even more as it warmed up. Liked the way the coconut gave way to the spices, which I think could easily have been jarring. I didn't get much pumpkin from it (which is totally fine for me!).

For those wondering: Momi Hiwa was $24 w/ 3/person limit.

As far as Dui Cochi goes: Pretty strong on the bourbon, as mentioned similar spicing as Rumpkin/Pump[KY]n. I didn't get much coconut and the pumpkin crept in at the end.
Also not my favorite, but I'm happy with it.

I felt like coconut porter was a misleading description. Spiced porter would have been more accurate. There were hints of coconut but the spices dominated.

That being said, it was a good beer, but I decided to take the money earmarked for it and buy more of the Baptist variants (particularly the DB), which I liked considerably more.
