Personally I'm just not interested. two consecutive years of infections plus their insistence on making a Black Friday spectacle every year have me giving zero fucks these days.

 

Also, where are you located in CA? I imagine the same spots in/around LA will have events.

 

Not in the mood to wait 3-4 hours just to get a single bottle of BCBCS and miss out on whatever other variants just because I didn't get there at 2am the night before.

 

No Rare and no Rye means I can walk down to the store at opening and get what I want

FWIW, several Gelson's in L.A. got a shit-ton of regular BCBS throughout the winter last year, became my go-to for several weeks.

 

If I recall correctly, folks were reporting problems, such as noticeable acidity, with bcbcs 2014. nothing to the scale of the 2015 disaster of course. I also had ridiculously under filled bottles of bcbw in 2013.

 

When my local Ralph's has BCBS well into December and there are no "special" variants this year, there is zero reason to go to any special Goose events.

 

Id like to have the coffee and barleywine at least once but seems unlikely to happen again as ill be working.

 

The last few years there has been one official spot where you had the best chance of getting everything..Ramirez Liqours 2 years ago, then the Whole Foods last year...

I am guessing GI hasnt announced where the official releases will be yet?

All of your fav spots will get something as well...but typically smaller allocations and not all variants.

 

I imagine there's considerably less interest this year because people are still sour over what happened last year.

 

I saw info that said, reg, bw, and coffee and that's it--- the prop of maple, chilis and pecans or some nut was "not ready" this year--probably went bad!

 

Wonder if they really would've sent him a check for $1800 if he had saved all the paperwork?

Are there any places pouring it on Friday in the OC/LA area? I have plenty of bottles so I don't see the need to buy more, but I always like spending the day after Thanksgiving day-drinking a stout outside. I just checked in with Native Son, who had a great selection 2 years ago, but they're not getting it anymore. I know last year Bru in Lake Forest had just the regular BCBS but no coffee/other variants.
