FYI, for anyone eyeing the Singlecut BA Heavy Boots of Lead bottles that are still on shelves in DC, I just opened one, and it definitely tasted infected. There are other, similar reports in the November Singlecut forum. Between this and the Bon Bon that didn't taste as they expected but that they decided to sell anyway, I think I'm done with these guys. Too much great beer hitting our market to waste my time on them.

Any BCS left in Elliott city/Columbia areas or anywhere close? If not what's the best bottle shops to go to?

The recent batches have been the best they've done in terms of yeast character.

I tried that one but wasn't blown away like you guys seemed to be. Oh well, more for the rest of you, I guess.

Is there any High West-ified left in NoVA? I haven't been able to track any down.

Those have been on since last weekend, @ $10/10oz. That felt pretty steep for the Abraxas, I remember WF having much better prices, maybe just at other locations. Wasn't really feeling it, served ice cold in a frosted goblet, I couldn't tell it was Abraxas at all until it sat out for 25 mins, by which point I was ready to go considering all the screaming kid (this was sunday afternoon).

You and I must be intersecting on opinions of Manor Hill. I've been raving about them over last year or so, but the last IPA can and Citra Splendor can I've had tasted kinda fumey to me. Taylor Row IPAs are also on store shelves. Loved it at the brewery about a year ago so maybe I'll see how that one is tasting these days.

In other news, I visited Olde Mother Brewing in Frederick, MD last night and their '86 IPA is very very solid. Other beers I sampled were solid as well. Defintely have improved their beer making big time over last year. Worth a visit if you are in Frederick. Super cool vibe there and owners are very friendly. Their 2 dogs will greet you at the door.

Lol, yeah dear diary indeed! $10/glass is definitely steep but at happy hour it is only $9

I just opened one tonight which I purchased in NYC a few weeks ago, and thankfully it was not infected. Hopefully not too many others were affected. Would probably just drink ASAP to be safe though. Not real heavy barrel presence, ageing likely wont benefit this one anyways.

Damn, hearing these things about Singlecut sucks. That whole snafu with the food inspector sounded a little gross (in Queens).

Softly Spoken Magic Spells makes up for all past wrongs. I've been buying it every time I have the opportunity. Simply an amazing beer.

A former neighbor just texted me to tell me Aipark beer and wine still has bourbon county......for $20 a bottle. If you're desperate and feel like enabling, go get you some.
