I didn't see the post, how much are the bottles? $6-$7?

Are these bottle releases now going to be even crazier than the crowlers? Or will the increased brewery production make them more available?

Seriously, no one knows how this will go. They haven't released quantities or whether they'll also be doing crowlers of the same beers, so if it's the same quantities it will probably be the same craziness or worse due to the novelty. Also, I don't know if these first bottles will be coming out of their expanded capacity brewhouse, which could affect the amount released. Stay tuned.

They just added a new beer to that list, Johnann Buys a Boat DIPA w/ Pineapple and Mandarin Orange @ $12/750ml.

Maybe I'm cheap but fuck those prices (format sucks also), more for you guys.

Aslin has always been overpriced. Crowlers of some dipas ran $14-15 which would be $7-8 a can. Price points haven't changed for bottles, which is disappointing to see. That being said, I doubt it will stop many from purchasing. However, personally I'd rather go the day after releases for draft than pay for to go beer, unless I'm trying to trade or share.

Crowlers of their DDH IPAs & DIPAs were $14 and the rest were $12. That is pretty standard. I was at a few other breweries in Richmond and they were charging $12 and $1 for the crowler for a regular DIPA. Pretty industry standard if you ask me.

You also can't compare bottles to cans. Cans are much cheaper so the perceived cost is less than a bottle. Go into any bottle shop in the area and these prices are in line or better than any other IPAs or DIPAs in the same format.

Yes the bottles may not be ideal, but from the constraints they have said it seems the most ideal way for them to get their beer to the market. Charging $9.99 for an IPA, $10.99 for a DIPA and $11.99 for a DDH is pretty industry standard. I know Ocelot was charging $6 for a 500ml IPA which is pretty inline with this, not sure what they are charging now. I also know Trillium was charging more than this when they were doing bottles.

Trillium was charging a similar price for bottles but they were also widely regarded as the highest price point in the market. I can definitely understand mass producing cans is cheaper than a crowler but the principle remains it's nearly 20-30% higher than most dipas.

Just bought a triple dry hopped answe crowler for 9.99 this past weekend. To compare to a bottle format, singlecut, who is also on the high side for price are typically 6.99-8.99 for a 16.9oz bottle which would put them very close to Aslin. I see your point but if you say aslin isn't overpriced I just cannot agree. Still love the beer, hopefully they can slowly build up from here.

I had a Triple Dry Hopped beer at the answer a few weeks back. From what I know they are not actually using Triple the hops, just a marketing ploy. Very good though!

Not industry standard by any means, $11 for 750ml bottle?

For their size it is. Firestone walker double jack is $9.99 in stores. They are $1 more.

I've only ever gone to the tap room when crowlers are not available so I'm really curious what kind of lines to expect for this release.

So that makes it an industry standard I guess.

So I was going to be in DC on Sunday and could probably swing by Aslin on Sunday afternoon. Will there be to-go bottles or Crowler options for me on a Sunday or on site consumption only?

Since no take away have been in place for 6 or so weeks, I expect the line to be long, weather could play a factor too...good thing for mug club so I don't have to deal with that nonsense
