These re-offer allocations for HS are pretty big. Looks like we'll actually be able to "hoard" the stuff we really like this year!

Question - I upgraded to RS from PS but did not realize that PS did not automatically cancel itself based upon my RS enrollment. I realized this on Thursday, 1/12/17, when I scheduled the pick up of my RS allotment. I requested to have the PS membership for Q1 canceled and refunded, however I was told that the renewal moving forward was canceled but Q1 could not be refunded.

    Is this accurate?

    Thanks!

Usually Q1 would bill towards the middle/end of the quarter (March). Were you actually billed for Q1? They haven't even said what all 3 beers were in the PS package. Just MW so far I believe.

IIRC, the PS are billed right at the start of the quarter. I first joined in Q2 of last year and I was billed very early in each quarter.

I saw the PS order (1/2/17) in my list of orders when checking my Bruery account.

My bad. Thanks for the correction. Glad I cancelled my extra PS when I did.

For returning RS/HS, does there seem to be more to go around than usual? Maybe with so many different offerings people bought fewer of each on average? Or maybe it's a sign that production has gone way up? Just curious since I was PS last year. Seems like a good thing whatever the reason!

This is the first time they've done sales like this so we don't know if production went up, or if they've always made this amount and they are just sitting on a lot that never got sold.

Yeah, each PS quarter is now billed at the front & not at the back of the quarter .

Sure, but my question is ultimately whether or not I should received a refund on the PS order.

    Cheers.

To my knowledge the Bruery doesn't allow returns on alcohol. I think it is a legal thing. I know local liquor stores can't. On their website they state that but I'm not sure about a PS quarter...
I would email the society and see though.

No returns of alcohol needed. I haven't actually received any allotments for the Q1 PS membership - those are made available near the end of the quarter.

I am just asking about the actual membership. I did email the Society and they told me that the automatic renewal for PS was canceled but they could not refund the membership. I found that odd.

...which I'm guessing I'll be able to purchase for less via the RS membership than what I'd be paying to have it included in the Q1 package.

At least I wasn't the only other space cadet. haha.

Ya I've sent a couple pretty polite emails about this and now they have stopped responding completely. Very unfortunate they take advantage of society members like this.

They said they can't refund a recurring order after it's processed. But I didn't know it continues to the next year before they charged. It's a catch 22. They also tried to point me to the PS terms and conditions, however that results in a "forbidden" URL. http://www.thebruerystore.com/p-9-preservation-society-membership.aspx?msg=3

All around dicey. At least it's only $60.

Long story short you should, and legally speaking probably could very well, be entitled to a refund.*

I think you guys are at least safe getting the extra bottles, as MW itself is like $39.99 retail. For the price of Q1 you're getting a deal whether you really wanted more beer or not.
