WW is expanding locations like crazy, they must have has one hell of a cash infusion. But with their sours and wild ale program I would assume that's what their hitching their wagon to. Not a fan of Freak, but Pernicious is very good, although the ive probably mentioned it before Burial Scythe is far and away my favorite.

Had a couple of the new batch of Surf Wax watching the game, I still like that one more than Hawkbill, but they're both pretty great.

Had never heard of Vic's Secret hops before, but it made for a great Ceremonial batch.

The recent batch of Surf Wax has "So Pitted" stamped on the bottom, which I found pretty hilarious.

Had it today, it's really solid. It's not the hazy style, more in line with the recent batches. Liked Hop Sauce even more, but they acted like that one would kick soon.

Hey fellow BAers, I hate to be 'that guy' but I am travelling to Charlotte this Sunday for a quick visit. I read through as much of this thread as I could before posting but wanted to check with you all about what stops I should definitely hit while I am there. Ive been to NoDa before so I don't mind missing that this time around, never had anything from Heist so I think I definitely want to hit that.

Outside of that, anything awesome going on this Sunday/anything great on tap/releases I should be aware of? Was thinking of hitting maybe Heist/Wooden Robot/Triple C/Birdsong but I don't know much about any of those breweries so any advice is appreciated.

Bonus question: any cant miss BBQ spots in Charlotte, or anywhere along the way down 85 towards Charlotte I need to hit up?

If you are looking for BBQ off 85, look no further than Lexington BBQ. It is a NC legend/staple. It is also right of business 85. Pro tip, get the bbq however you like it but also get a hot dog all the way. Its an old fashioned hot dog with their bbq slaw on it. If you have time, go by Brown Truck Brewing in High Point. They cleaned up at GABF this past year in the small brewery category.
It sounds like you have got the brewery list down. Heist and Wooden Robot are must hits. Triple C is awesome and if you are a single man, Sycamore is a must. Definitely go by Brawleys Beverage (a Charlotte legend) and Duckworths on Montford. Between those two stops, you will find the best liquid on tap in Charlotte. If you find yourself hungry on Montford and you like wings, getting a "half and half" order of bee stings and blackend wings will change your life. When at Triple C/Sycamore, Good Bottle is right around the corner. When at Heist, Salud bottle shop is right down the street. If you get lost and find yourself uptown for some reason, Duckworths Uptown combined with The Cellar at Duckworths will offer the best food and tap selection combined in Charlotte.

Highland Souther Sixer is a really tasty and well rounded IPA. Probably my favorite hoppy beer from them including small batch stuff.

This is perfect, thank you good sir. Will definitely hit Lexington BBQ and try and stop at some of the bottle shops as well, time permitting.

Sounds promising! I was pretty stoked to walk into State of Beer the other day and see 3 different Night Shift IPA's on tap, pretty sweet they came down for a collab!

Haha just goes to show the state of things in the craft beer world. Double IPA + NE Brewery + 4 Packs + Name some hops in an instagram post + Edgy cover art = THIS IS A WINNER!

I for one will be waiting to hear some reviews before spending my moola on this or any new beer jumping on the haze craze. I had some of Night Shift's stuff at their tap takeover last month. All were just okay. Trophy, likewise, has some pretty significant QC issues with their cans in my experience so far, notably the Cloud Surfer batch most recently.

Make no mistake, I hope it's really good but I highly doubt it'll end up being much different than the mid-level stuff they usually put out.

A brewery people like collaborates with another brewery people like to make a new beer in a popular style and locals are looking forward to trying it.

    Crazy.

3 people expressed interest online, definitely a referendum on the entire craft beer world.
