Beer For Breakfast (aka scrapple beer) was great. Scrapple is basically pig parts and cornmeal. So it's greasy. But it also has a lot of spice in it too (probably to make you forget its pig parts and cornmeal)
And that's what I got out of it... oilyness (which I get in many high test stouts) and a bit of scrapple spice. Which made it awesome.

A barrel aged PBR infused with hipster armpit sweat and organic three bean veggie wrap farts. The bottle has flannel fabric stitched around it and the beer is called "You've Probably Never Heard Of It".

A local brewery here in Raleigh did a one-off batch of a sour porter that was pretty terrible. I drank it because I paid for it, but that combination is just not meant to be IMO. I've noticed a few (I think Destihl) breweries attempting the sour stout styles of beer that I just cannot get behind.

No worse than a Tuna Colada!
I saw people praying to Vomitica for deliverance from the spell of this happily dead potion!

Two breweries in Portland... Upright had a beer called Captain Beefheart that used - you guessed it - cows hearts. Breakside had one called Silence of the Lambs with lambs hearts. Didn't get to try either one of those.

I did try the Rogue's Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon one. It was terrible. Burnt bits of bacon in the sediment. I also got to try Omnipollo's Magnus Opus - bourbon barrel aged Noa Pecan Mudcake with cinnamon and cold-smoked bacon - which was surprisingly amazing.

Lol, I love that one. If I want people to question my tastes, I break that one out at my house during the summer. A few years ago I brought back a growler each of Key Lime and Spruce Pilsner, my wife was semi-pissed because she can't stand either one.
I'd add Spruce tips to the list but I've heard it's a traditional beer ingredient.

I love both those! The Mangalitsa gives the porter a natural smokey flavor that goes well with the base beer. And I got the Spear Beer as a goof, but the grilled asparagus was present but not overpowering. And it was really refreshing. If, somehow, we end up in TC at the same time I'll buy a round of each!

Yeah, I think this one pretty much ends the thread.

Although there was that beer brewed with testicles...

I'm with ya on that one. Pig Porter is great and I think a Spear Beer would be great around the BBQ.

Ouzo-flavored Saison (or rather Saison with anise seed). Oh yes.

Yeah I'd definitely give it a try, catnip is a weird ingredient that could actually work in the right beer

FWIW Silence of the Lambs was actually a Burnside Brewing beer, not a Breakside beer. Cheers!

Not that long ago - they actually revived it ---- briefly:
And it wasn't the only "citrus" light lager around at the time --- no word yet on Pabst's possible revival of this 1960s Lone Star Brewing Co. brand:

I'm going with a beer brewed by one of Wicked Weed's brewers for their 1st Anniversary Party.

Gummy Bear Beer, even came with a Gummy Bear in the glass.
