Bottled 2/20/18 in a 22oz format

It’s a really dark gold, and clear. Very nice frothy, off-white head. Good retention with a film and some lacing left behind.

Smells like blueberry muffins. Obviously there is some bready/doughy malts to get this result, but I get all blueberry with some sweetness.

It tastes pretty much the same. A lot of blueberry initially along with a slight grassy hop note. There is some noticeable vanilla before it ends on a grainy, toasted bread flavor.

The body is a little prickly/carbonated feel up front, but it is balanced out by some creaminess. It is a bit drying overall, which is surprising considering it doesn’t come across real hoppy. Overall I think it is really drinkable.

I was not sure what to expect from the catnip front, but I suspect they used it in lieu of hops. I think the whole thing works pretty well with a nice balance of flavors.

Original rating May 20. 2017- 22 oz bottle- Pours clear dark orange to golden with a medium white head that retains nicely. Aroma is blueberries, vanilla, and a bit of grassy hops. The taste is blueberries, vanilla, dry bittering hops, heard catnip is similar to hops in taste, in fact they are a relative, but the flavor is very dry, medium bitterness, drying in the mouthfeel. Interesting, and i actually really enjoyed it!

Clear appearance. Dark amber red color. Frothy, off-white head. Eventually collapses into a thick collar. Lacing is good. Aroma is blueberries, vanilla, and some citrusy notes. Slick mouthfeel. There is a little sweetness from the blueberries. The finish is abrupt but a tad bitter. Do not get the vanilla which i was kind of hoping for. As for the catnip i have never experienced so do not know really what that is supposed to smell or taste like. The longer it warms up the more bitter it gets. I am liking this beer.

Poured great - dark amber with two fingers fluffy head. Aroma was a pleasant, light blueberry and flavor hit the mark and was perfectly subtle on the fruit. Dry finish with a stark bitternes I imagine comes from catnip. Interesting and good brew, but a novelty drink for me.

22oz bottle served in pint glass. Beer pours a lovely amber color, crystal clear, and forms a surprisingly large white pillowy head. Immediate rushing aroma of blueberries. Flavor... well, it tastes like a blueberry beer. Not a blueberry wheat (Sea Dog, Wachusett), nor a lager (Sam Adams). Just a straight ahead American amber ale with the classic blueberry ale flavor. There is a dryness in the finish which is kind of herbal -- and not in a good way. Maybe that's the catnip? Unfortunately I don't detect the vanilla bean at all. I'm not loving this, and I don't think I'd try it again. Then again I'm not a huge fan of blueberries in any form so what did I expect? Lovers of blueberry beers would probably get a lot more out of it than I.

Claims to be a blueberry vanilla catnip beer. I can't say I know what catnip tastes like, but blueberry and vanilla are very strong. I haven't had this combo of flavors in any other beer, but they seem to work very well. I personally love the strong flavors, which makes this one of my favorite light beers.
