Oh I'll still try to go. But if its not group A-C then no thank you. You can say what you want about it being a great festival and an amazing bottle share (which I totally agree with), but you can't honestly tell me $180 for 6 DL is worth it.

 

Last year was the first, and only year that a variant was guaranteed.

 

I dunno. They are probably worth more than that secondarily. But really the chunk of the fee for me is the admission into the festival. I like hanging with friends and drinking insanely good beers all day. The tote bag of Dark Lord is like the goodie bag at the end.

"Variants will be released closer to the event. Bottles will be available on a first come first served basis. Once variants run out, you can choose 2 vintage bottles of Dark Lord."
I'm guessing A - C are getting variants.

 

Last year was the first year they charged the much higher price tag, though. You can't compare to years before that IMO. As much as those of you (and perhaps me) may think it's still worth it, this is certainly a strange change of direction 24 hours before tickets go on sale. Of course, FFF is not normal, so we shouldn't be too surprised.

 

Not arguing that and I see your point on the price also being increased / made all inclusive. It is very strange that this change happened right before tickets went on sale with zero explanation as to why.

 

As much as I like FFF, they kind of suck at communication.

 

I called a detective. He says.....they don't have enough variants for all the tickets they are going to sell. Which I guess I probably could have figured out on my own, but this investigation was definitely worth $850.

Oh come on, you know that won't stop us! You could get someone directly from 3 Floyds to say exactly what the reasoning is, and we'd still find a way to wonder/question/bitch about what is happening.

If they are going to change the variant thing last minute at least include some vouchers with the $180.

We've gone from bitching about vouchers to now wanting vouchers...isn't this the greatest? I feel like I've gotten my $180 worth already from this thread.

 

Rumor of an even more last minute change in the pipeline:

Admittance into the Dark Lord Day festival grounds not guaranteed. It will be entrance into the fest or 2 tables at 18th Street Brewing.

 

It never disappoints.

 

I love going full circle. I say bring back the lottery. (I did not actually mind the vouchers, it made getting a beer real fast)

 

Barnaby Struve leaves and the whole 3 Floyds house of cards comes falling down!

It's like the FFF DLD 2016 wrap up meeting went like this "Guys that fest went too well. How the heck are we going to keep the hype going if everyone is happy? I know! Let's limit the amount of variants again to piss people off and force them to line up early or miss out. "

 

That actually sounds like the XV anniversary party. They did stop letting people in at one point
