one year everyone will go to the south line cause of years of north line failures and I'll be there and get through the north in 5 minutes. I wait for that payoff.

I get to the north line early enough for shares that it doesn't worry me how long it takes to get in.

What's the North line like if you get there ~3 hours before it opens? I've only heard horror stories, but I guess people never said what time they arrived there.

Last year I lined up just before 6:30AM for 10AM opening at the north gate. Was probably around 150th or so in line. Got in relatively quickly and picked up a Marshmallow Handjee with the very first wave of people that got in.

Best part of that early lining up was the great people and incredible beers that they shared. I had an opportunity to try beers I never thought I would get a chance to try. Even if I didn't have group A tix again this year, I would came early.

What are people's preferred method of carrying bottle share bottles/DL bottles within the festival? I've heard backpacks, cooler backbacks/shoulder bags, beer holsters, etc. Are there particular products or tricks that come highly recommended? I'm in the market for a new cooler or cooler bag for beer releases, and DLD seems like a good excuse to get one.

Sorry, if this was discussed earlier in the Thread, I've only been following for that last 15-20 pages or so. Thanks.

I haul around a back-pack. Usually bring 6-7 bombers for share and plan on sharing 4-5 before entering fest. At that point the whole allotment can go right into back pack where it is secure. There are quite a few thieves at DLD and you definitely dont want to be hauling your allotment in that tote bag.

Also, I dont think coolers are allowed but I'd check on that. Id recommend just getting a descent sized backpack (no wheels!) where you can fit a few bottles of water (for hydration and keeping the beers you will share cool) as well as space for the 5-8 beers.

Going to DLD is like going to war. It isn't enough to have the proper beer, you need the proper equipment to survive the day. I would suggest this load out though have never done it:

Awesome thanks. We might be doing the same then (group A). Are the shares as good as the South line? How long would you say it took you until you got through the gates? Just wondering if we show up around 5:30-6, if it is better to do the North or the South line.

There will be great shares up and down both North and South lines. Pick your poison.

Cooler backpacks are perfectly fine. They just don't want people rolling in big hard igloo coolers.

    Something like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-C003-Soft-Backpack-Cooler/dp/B00LGVSR0W

    or this

    https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-16-C...d=1490056111&sr=1-24&keywords=cooler+backpack

    or this

    https://www.amazon.com/Igloo-60429-...e=UTF8&qid=1490056147&sr=1-9&keywords=maxcold

are perfectly fine. Just don't bring anything with wheels, or anything that can't be carried on your back or over your shoulder.

This will be my 4th DLD in a row and the bottle shares on both north and south lines are all insane. I often walk the line offering pours. Here's to seeing some BA's there and sharing some good brews. I'm a pretty big metal fan and always look forward to the line up. Been wanting Thy Art Is Murder for years. What do you guys think? To much for FFF's?

ive seen people with these before, but I can't find one that will hold a mini tulip/snifter, but looking for like a glass lanyard. I know it sounds dorky, but i remember thinking last year how much easier it would be if i wasnt carrying this glass all the time while trying to get stuff out of my backpack.

My wife made mine and a few family members.... told her she needs to go with me and set up a booth somewhere. Bet she would sell the heck out of them.. she only has about $2-3 in them.

I guess I'm assuming you were talking about the snifter lanyards?

I thought I saw those for sale somewhere last year. Did a quick search on Amazon but couldnt find any. Will definitely be on a lookout for it myself.

You guys need to search the wine supplies. Wine snobs spend significantly more money on beverages/paraphernalia than beer snobs, so there's a ton more stuff.

I used one of these last year and it was very effective: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004D5MZE2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you look up wine lanyards, there are a few other options.

I also picked up these glasses. They were the best combination of quality (ie not complete crap that will break in an instant), price and size. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007F0TLBW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Obviously don't fill it unless you're ready for a fight! This set was on sale for $10 when I bought them, so you might want to search "plastic wine glasses" for other options.

Lastly, this is easily the best beer-related purchase I've made. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00015COUS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use them all the time and I stick my bombers in them for a little extra padding in the backpack. I've dropped them a few times and the bottles survived, though I wouldn't recommend testing it. They were $10 when I bought them, but still worth it now!
