Since it's been mentioned - has Born (Again) Yesterday appeared in Chicagoland yet?

Can you order them in freshness?

All of those beer are probably less than 2 weeks old. Certainly less than a month for all of them

Got a twelve pack at Binnys Mokena yesterday. They had maybe 15 or so when I left.

Yes all were fresh- Mosaic Gummy was the oldest...

We also don't have the same order but very similar- the forbidden Root beers were clearly made the best. Best carb and body for sure. I have Stratus miles above Juice Pants 4 but this JP is better than any other Maplewood I've had....

If you are a trader then you 100% have to have Structures on your list. This was my second can I've traded for and it was so good...

Thanks for the heads up... I might post an ISO soon. I looked it up and it says it has rye in it as well.

I just had a rye NEIPA from Pure Project in California called Goodbye Pluto and it was awesome. I'm thinking rye might be a nice ingredient for the style ?

So there was a version of the Marz ChIPA on tap at Beer Cellar that was kegged yesterday - it had 3 types of white wine added, and it was phenomenal! If you guys can make your way over there, I highly suggest it. This one blows the regular ChIPA out of the water...

So just to be clear, if I want an amazing NE IPA style beer, I have to drink one with 3 kinds of wine in it?

Absolutely. It's got a nice, subtle grape flavor in there along with the citrus from the regular version. Super hazy and juicy, and an all-around great offering of the style

Alpine's Nelson is also a Rye IPA and it's fantastic. I know it's not a NE-style IPA but it's not really that far off.

Thanks for the heads up on Pure Project. I'll keep a look out.

Yep, all were within the last month and most were even fresher than that.

The Fuzz was under 2 weeks as well.

Nelson (the beer) is dope as hell. Between it and Nugget Nectar, I wish people would do a little more with good hoppy ales that aren't strictly IPAs.

So I got my brother to bring me up some Triptych cans. Unfortunately I asked him for Really Dank Meme, and he brought up regular Dank Meme. I can't complain, since Dank Meme was pretty delicious - I was really looking forward to having the IPA version that's actually dedicated toward the NE Style though.

Dank Meme was a lighter mouth feel than what I was expecting, but it has a lot of citrus-y flavors and a nice hop bite. I'll be enjoying the rest of these cans for sure.

Just when I thought I was out on Hailstorm's Stratus, they pulled me back in with their 4/6/17 cans. I agree with some of the other posts in here that they really dialed back the bitterness and created a much softer mouthfeel. The look, aroma and feel are nailed for my preference of the style. I'm not getting as much pronounced juicy hop flavor as some others in the style, but it's still really, really good. Tip of the cap to Hailstorm.

Also, looking back at some of my photos of past Stratus cans, they appear to have dialed back the carb level as well. Not sure if that's intentional, or maybe just how I poured this one, but it seems less carbed than past batches. I don't know if that's a real factor, but it's something I've wondered about when homebrewing the style to create less bite. When looking at NEIPA photos, is that really a boss pour, or just a low carbed beer, maybe both?

Anyone else experience lower carbonation in this style?

just cracked a Juice Pants 4 and think it's real good so if you see it around would also like to throw my hat in the recommendations for checking it out. there's a stack of it at binny's on grand in front of one of the registers oddly enough.
