What's your ideal Dark Lord Variant?

Mine's Apple Brandy Barrel Aged w/ Vanilla Beans

I honestly think if they'd ever do an extremely high level of coffee to counteract the sweetness the beer would be much better. I know that it already has coffee, but just a "Double Coffee DL" would be great, BA or not. FVM in a bourbon barrel would've been money IMO (more than it was).

Would love to see Pappy Van Winkle DL, aged for 24 months.

Agreed, if very bitter, very roasty coffee, yet not acrid.

    Or maybe peanut butter!

Honestly I don't think they'll ever top MMHJ.

Agree with a straight Coffee/BA Coffee Variant..... I haven't had Cognac Coffee from 2015 yet, but FVM was amazing.... I'd like to see a Bourbon FVM because it's hard for me to imagine it getting better than original FVM.

Dark Lord with Vanilla Bean, Chilies, Cinnamon, and Cocoa Nibs aged 50% in Rum Barrels, 50% in Apple Brandy. (aka DB Huna)

If they would do a double coffee non BA version, they could probably produce like 2000 bottles and it would be a great consolation variant after the higher coveted BAs ran out. But I think double coffee is too boring for them lol. Unless the coffee was called "Fetus Banger" coffee or such.

FVM was probably one of the best beers I have ever had, and I would love to try a Bourbon version, for better or worse.

They used it on their BA bottles for many years. The pic is an example of one from 2012: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26/40508/

lol, see above definition of abbreviation. C'mon man you're ruining it.

Pay special attention only to the abbreviation, not the spelled out words, on the official old skewl logos below broseph.

Didn't you just a few posts up the page use "MMHJ" for Marshmallow Handjee? Wouldn't it be MH as a proper abbreviation since Marshmallow and Handjee are one word each? Maybe your abbreviations/acronyms should be correct before you lecture others on their shortcomings?

Those are brewer's keys, not F's. How the heck would one of the 3 Floyd's unlock the brewery with an F?

Oh even more ruiners. Shitting on everything. All teh shitz!

Correct? We're not talking proper abbreviations, but FFF abbreviations, and there isn't one for MMHJ. Most people use MMHJ on trade boards. FFF doesn't abbreviate MMHJ as far as I'm aware, and if they did, it would be BVDL VBDL BBVDL BDLVDLDBL, or something :grinning:

If you go to 3floyds.com, you will see "3 Floyds Brewing Co" near the top right and on the About page. So, the abbreviation may actually be 3FBC. This aligns with Columbus Brewing Co. which in Columbus, is often referred to as CBC.

CBC stands for the Craft Brewers Conference though, let's start a new fight.
