I am sad to hear this. The one store that carried it here only got 1 shipment. I was drinking it even after it's shelf life and it was still tasty.

I'm toasting a goodbye right now with a Wells Bombardier, one of the few beers in the city not loaded with technicolor dream hops .

I had never seen it nor heard about it until a few weeks ago. Even then, I did not know what style it was and passed. Maybe I'll go back and see if it is still there. I think it is an ESB after all, a great style that is hard to find.

I just looked at the ratings. I gave it a 3.84 which was just about the average. Not sure why Pabst didn't put some hype behind it. RIP!

Same experience here in Pennsylvania, only ONE shipment ever showed up and then sat around forever. Even though it held up nicely (being canned, afterall) I was wondering if it was a one-off product and emailed Pabst who said at the time that it was still being produced. Now I wish I had stocked up on it.

Going to be sorely pissed if they discontinue Ballantine Burton. It's almost as good as DFH's Burton Baton (I like the way it ages better, actually -- Burton Baton doesn't seem to change much, while Ballantine Burton takes on more of a barleywine quality) and is a hell of a lot cheaper at $12 for 6. Sadly I can't stock up on it because it's seasonal.

What a shame. Honestly one of the very best beer values out there. Solid as hell beer it was for macro price. Probably fell between two niches though; to craft for macro folks, too macro for craft folks, and not any discernible irony to create hipster support. I'll miss it.

On that thought, that is my rationalization for why my local craft beer bars refuse to serve Ballantine IPA on tap. IMO, Ballantine IPA is a very good to excellent beer when served on tap (the discriminator for draft is freshness?).

I am bummed that I can't drink Ballantine IPA on draft locally but I suppose the fact that Ballantine is considered macro by the beer geek crowd is a 'killer' here?

    Cheers!

Damn the Giant Eagle near me has a couple 4 packs in stock. May have to clear their stock.

Sadly, offerings like this are not fashionable, not for Big Beer & NOT for whatever craft trend is making the rounds this year...their loss.

I have some good news depending on where you live in PA (@JackHorzempa @woodychandler you guys might want to hear this too) I just picked up a 24 case of Old Tankard from Bensalem Beer & Soda for $12. Price says $38 but its in system on clearance. There was only 1 case left though (I hesitated)

Good news always seems to come with bad news though...Its best by date is 6/15/16. However, I gotta say, it is still drinking quite nicely, especially as it warms. And I'm pretty picky when it comes to fresh beer. I was half expecting drain pour but I'm very happy I got this. You guys better get that last case before I do :grinning:

Thanks for thinking of me! I had some when it first came out & I am in the midst of a major eradication of beer backlog so traveling for more beer is not currently a CANcern of mine. Again, thanks for thinking of me, though. Tune in tomorrow for my idiocy in NBS!

June 15th, eh? Kinda confirms my thought that most places only received one batch.

I Think that is the exact same reply I got when asking if they were bringing Andeker back sometime. I think it is a canned response and maybe an old one from before they brought it back.

Andeker BTW is back at the Pabst brewpub in Milwaukee at least..
