The stores that I've been in have stuck to the suggests pricing. WLV even has $1 off all Pipeworks beers all the time. Can't speak for a majority of the stores though as I've only been in 3-4 that have had their beers.

With only 20 or so accounts you would think the stores would be within a dollar of Pipeworks suggested retail price.

I seem to recall a post from Pipeworks saying that they only intend to work with retailers who are "on the level" -- avoiding those that, for example, may require a $XX purchase in order to buy BCBS or a shady lottery or anything like that. I would hazard a guess that obnoxious mark-ups over the MSRP could factor into that, too.

anyone seen the Stout in stores? After pipeworks' tweet yesterday, i went to LP Binny's but got denied the stout as they were saving them for FWB program.

Vav (if you see this), is there ever an allotment released on the sales floor the first week of a new release from PW and simultaneously saving some for the FWB?

I make my decision to hold everything or release a few cases based upon my instincts. Something like Poivre Rose has been released before, and therefore i'm not concerned about FwB cleaning out what i got. Standard Issue was another i split about 70/30 FwB/shelves, even though it was a brand new beer.

Abduction is a high gravity stout that's brand new. This i assume will be very popular (lots of nerd points to this particular release), thus driving hype. So i make sure FwB can get theirs first, as they paid for that slot. Rather not risk running out.

I don't think the FwB email has been sent yet or at least I didn't receive it...

I can't remember if its come up here before or not but I want to say how happy I've been with how the FwB has been handled at Binnys. I've never missed out on anything and everyone I've met at the service counter has always been friendly about it.
I know Binny's is still still making money too but I think they've gone above and beyond handling the FwB list considering they don't have to be part of it at all. The whole experience has definitely led me to buy more beer there even though it involves a lunch hour trip on the L and nearly a 2 mile walk round trip.

thanks for the info, was just curious. So assuming there are some left, next tuesday for the public?
the beer was delivered yesterday in the late afternoon. was visiting some buddies at the whole foods when i saw the tweet so i shimmied on over. i would imagine the email would appear today for those with the email alerts, they were probably a little behind.

    agreed.

just drink them. it's a damn delicious beer. it's a super nice gesture on their part, but PW shouldn't have even had to offer glasses just because of the nose of Blue Lady. i'm just going to buy a glass when their store front opens.

I had 4, drank 1 sent 1 in a box. I wanted to return the 2 I have. Like I said to them in my e-mail, it would be cool to get A glass but not needed.I do appreciate your idea though maybe I will save them for next time I have a cold.

    October 11, 2012 Update

    This week brings us:

Abduction Imperial Stout - 10.5% ABV, we stress a berry note on this one, dark chocolate, light hops, bit of espresso, one of our all time favorites! Definitely suitable for aging, if you do that sort of thing.
Should be $10.99 per 22oz bottle

Poivre Rose returns, this time a little dryer and a lighter in body, also, based on feedback, we upped the pink peppercorn a bit on this batch.

Both of these are now currently available at West Lakeview Liquors and Binny's on Marcey St.

    On the horizon:

    - Tasting this Saturday at Capones 3678 N Elston Ave starting at 3pm
    - Fundraiser for our 1st Ward Alderman Joe Moreno at Revolution on the 18th of October to help build a new playground
    - Beer dinner at Revolution on the 29th. As soon as we hear details about the dinner we'll pass it along to you all.
    - Tasting at Vas Foremost on Milwaukee & California on the 26th of October.

    Beer:
    - Our Last Kiss Weeheavy is freaking amazing!!! We love this beer! Cannot wait to get it out there. Probably end of October as it is lagering now.
    - Pastrami on Rye should make an appearance by the end of the year (yes it's a beer we make... and it's delicious)
    - Smoked Oat Jones Dog
    - Hyper Dog
    - Ninja vs Unicorn
    - North & Western Dry Hopped Saison (next week probably)
    - Blue Lady (done correctly, is souring now)
    - Cranberry Berliner for the Holidays is in the works
    - Well Read Temptress Raspberry Berliner is just waiting on some federal approval to be release... but it is stinky cheese free for those wondering!
    - Southern Bell Peach Berliner is also in the works
    - Glaucus should be release before the end of October

Ed. Note: No pumpkin beer it seems, despite their contemplating the idea. Maybe next year.
