Some of our larger retailers bought 30+ cases and sold enough that they were asking for more the following week.

I picked up a six a couple days ago -- it's going on the wall! Used to have a bona fide bottle from back in the late Nineties, but that box of bottles got lost in a move somewhere along the line. I'm grandfathering this new bottle in.

By the way, this beverage was worse than I remembered it. Going to be a slog to finish the six, but I will make a buddy of mine who is coming up in a couple days help out. Doesn't help that the damn stuff is 181 calories a bottle. Yikes. And 21+ g carbs! (if anyone cares).

    Thanks,

Me too! They should have a bumper sticker "I ALMOST bought some Zima!". Almost buyers are likely what did them in the first time around.

I passed on Surge, so I think I will do the same with this. There are plenty of things from my high school and college years that I don't want to relive

Another reason to slap the shit out of millenials in addition to man rompers.

:confused:Is this classified as beer now? LOL I hope not this stuff is horrible. I remember when it came out and thought it was on the same nasty taste list and TAB soda, lol.

My store got 5 cases in on 6/14. By 6/16 I was already sold out and im not able to get anymore till after 6/27. I have to say I was shocked at how fast it sold, I guess it has to be the nostalgia. I have a feeling it will die off though

Well it says Limited Edition right their on the 6-pack. You think they can just toss this together like lemonade? I just saw about 100 cases being added to a floor-stack at a nearby mini Wal-Mart. The tag line oughta be, "Zima, just as good as it never was!" While I personally think that 18 year olds should be able to buy beer, I have no doubt but this beverage is targeting current under-age "drinkers'.

So...the wife comes home the other day with a six pack of Zima. The nostalgia immediately kicks in. I remembered drinking it at a friends house as part of a last minute beer/alcohol potluck he threw together back in high school. It was the 90's, it was alcohol, and we were going to drink it. Now, I didn't remember the taste of it so much as I remembered people putting Jolly Ranchers candy in it to change the flavor.
All that being said I cracked one open and drank it. Straight up, no Jolly Rancher. It was, ok. Not bad but nothing to write home about. To me it tasted like a slightly less carbonated but somewhat sweeter version of sprite. You'd never know there was alcohol in it by taste. Is Zima beer? No, nor is it advertised as anything but a malt beverage. Why is it on beer advocate? I'm not exactly sure but I'm guessing it's the nostalgia.

    I've had my nostalgia fix.

Ahhhhh Zima. It was New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 1994. I had just finished my first alcoholic beverage ever drunken at a party, a Budweiser of course. I stated that I was going to try something else. A few people demanded that I must sample a Zima. So I drank one. Didn't like it. Went back to Bud. Would I try one again just for old times sake? Yeah. Would I then have a second one? Probably not

Total Wine in Orlando on Colonial had this on their seasonal beer shelf.... I walked THE FUCK out of there. Made me cringe. If it were misplaced I understand, but they had put a tag on the shelf for it. Why?!

Thank god it has not been added as a beer, at least not successfully - if someone added it, then it's been deleted.

So I bought a 6-pack as a joke, mainly because I have 3 college-age kids in the house this summer. None of them had ever heard of Zima, but they like cider, etc. They were not impressed.

I don't think a comeback is happening anytime soon.
