How is the bus transportation going to work? Looks like the trains run every other hour, so would have to take the 11:20am and get into Norwood around 11:50am. Will there be a bus then to take you to the site?

Yup, there will be a BrewBus there around 1155; will drop back around 455.

Did I have to sign up for that brew bus ahead of time? If so is it still available?

Or is this section, from above, implying a consistent shuttle looping?

"Transportation will be sponsored by Mass Brew Bus, who will be providing transportation to and from the Norwood Central train station all day!"

    Thanks

you don't have to sign up in advance; if the bus fills up we will run a second loop, and so on. We will be driving over for the 1151 train, and again for the 505 train.

Seems like any loop after the 4.30pm bus won't make it in time for the 5.05pm train. Will there be multiple buses leaving at 4.30pm? Or better still, multiple buses leaving at 4pm and 4.30pm? Will bus departures be announced? Trying to keep these logistical issues straight so we can just enjoy the drinking on Sunday

Tap selections at CBC and Lord Hobo seemed to be the most generous. There were about a half dozen on tap at both Foundry on Elm and The Rosebud. We spent most of the afternoon at CBC and tried the bulk of the list - Cor Cordium was the standout to me, followed by Maracuja. I was surprised they were not busier, particularly the outdoor seating, on such a nice day.

Checking in from the event. Going well, the live music is really good. This being the first time this has happened, its not surprising that the organization could be better. Duck Duck Gooze started pouring 15 minutes early (50+ person line, surprise surprise) and then the guy on the tap was reminded he was supposed to wait while the table next to Lost Abbey poured away. Seems the start time was either not well communicated or just ignored. Minor details.

I haven't seen anyone check wristbands, so it seems it doesn't matter if you spent the $30 or so extra for unlimited pours. This may cause more people to gripe.

Transportation from the commuter rail appeared to be limited. I was lucky enough to be on the first bus (14 seats), but they probably had to make rounds for an hour or more to get everyone over. It sounded like they didn't expect this many people to take the commuter rail, which while I know transportation of every attendee is hard to predict, the location outside the city should have probably prompted an increased transport capacity.

All in all, I am pretty pleased with the event. Great beer, nice outdoor venue, but room for improvement and I hope they do this again next year!

Thanks for coming! We are debriefing on the whole event now and appreciate the very specific feedback. We definitely learned some things this year. Realizing late into the sour stroll on Saturday (while tearing apart a Korean BBQ hog head at Rosebud, swoon) that we'd be selling out the festival was a great surprise and one I'm proud of our crew's ability to roll with.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the combination of two bus trips, and various Jack's crew members (and owners) driving their personal cars to the train station got most people to the venue well under an hour... big ups to the BrewBus guys for rolling with the punches, and for everyone's patience ! We will make sure we are not as surprised by the popularity of public transit next year.

We'll be looking at these issues, and plenty others as we look to be bigger, badder and even more funkd next year.

Thanks to Night Shift for putting this on with us, all the brewers, pourers and volunteers, our friends the Macrotones for getting down in two awesome sets, and everyone who came out in support.
