Keeping: Hoarders, Casa and Cellador (was really on the fence about Hoarders, but Casa and Cellador are no brainers)
Dropping: Good Beer (they release great stuff, but i needed to drop one)

 

Im wanting to join the stable next year how was your experience?

Yes, the communication has been a bit lacking (so I missed at least one pick up window, which was my fault, but might have been avoided if communication was more direct). The beers have been great, though, and service, etc. at the tasting room has never been less than stellar.

Joining: Cellador - been on the waitlist for awhile, but getting a little scared now seeing how many others are also hoping to join.

This was my first year dabbling with a membership.. I'm still unsure how I feel about them, but:

Considering renewal: Viking Club (but definitely the lower of the two tiers, and depends on remaining member bottles and how benefits evolve)

Considering joining: League, Bottlecraft Lock & Key (though I haven't heard anything much it from current members)

 

I'm probably in way too many clubs, but I like beer and value not having to stand in line for stuff, so it mostly works out.

Was hoping for De Garde, but missed out.

I've actually really liked Lock & Key. The quarterly beers have been solid and not widely distro'd stuff, and you get access to some great stuff occasionally (BL, Cantillon, etc) and things from outside CA, but you have to be fast. They've really expanded their online section where you can buy online and pick up later so for me that's huge even though I live a few blocks from a Bottlecraft. The 10% draft discount is just icing on the cake.

So jealous about Ale Apothecary. I'm on their waiting list but don't think I'll ever get in. Ha.

 

Ill be honest, I dont know how I got in. I emailed Paul early last year at some point asking if there was a wait list and he never responded. I emailed again about a month later asking if he had received my email and asking again if there was a wait list. He finally replied saying he wasnt sure he was gonna continue the club so there was no wait list to be added to at that point. I want to say around November or December I get an email asking if I want to join haha

 

How is every one joining all these small, out of state clubs?

You just have folks up in these places or is the some under the radar proxy service I need to know about?

 

I feel like I am the only person here with just one membership.
