Clearly, (to me, anyway), TG has damaged the pseudoSue brand with the FL contract brewed beer, and then compounded it with overproducing so the beer on shelves is old.

The fact is (OK, my opinion is) FL-brewed pseudoSue is a very good APA, and does hold up well with age.

It is, however, not the same as the pseudoSue bombers in distro now (the DDH versions). I can't speak to the original Decorah-brewed pseudoSue, since I never got the chance to try it here in MN.

Sites like BA make no distinction between the original p'Sue from Decorah, the FL bottles (which I thought were really good), and the current shelf-turd FL cans, so the reputation of the brand has taken a hit.

Poor business decision by TG, IMO. The FL brewed APAs should not have been called pseudoSue. The should have had some kind of modifier (like the DDH bombers have) to preserve the brand value. But, that is JMO.

TG bombers used to fly off the shelves, then the raised the prices across the board and now they are all shelf turds. Sad.

Not all are shelf turds but the last two XHOPS (Teal and Maroon) and HOPSMACK! sure seem to be turning into turds around here. DDH Sue still moves quickly. I guess the $2 price hike with the change from self-distrubuting to distributor hasn't helped either.

It's still overpriced, but that new label Hopslam batch is damn delicious and aromatic with an ideal mouthfeel to boot. If they could drop the price by $2-4 it'd be damn near perfect. $12 DIPA bomber does not make me holla

It's not the same as the original.

I'll agree the first few sets of bottles were well made and at least didn't shame the name like the cans do.

Agreed. Give the knowledge to consumers that they should have. Always though they should call it FL_Sue or something along those lines.

Lol $12 for hopslam???? Jesus they have gotten out of control. Thought 9.99 was high for DDH Sue. Not sure I would ever pay anything more than $10 per bomber for any of TG's IPA.

I remember getting King for 7.99 a bomber. Well those days are long gone. Gotta love distro's...

All of them at shelf turds at the stores I frequent. I need to check dates now of TG bombers to make sure I am getting the newest release.

Too bad it is near impossible to read the faint yellow, easily rubbed off, date on each bottle without looking like a paranoid freak in a liquor store.

Right... My local grocery store, here in NW WI, has been getting a lot of TG Bombers lately and there isn't a date code on any of them. I've been checking them out and am pretty sure the employees probably think I'm crazy.

No dates on the bottles in Detroit Lakes area either. Bought one bottle when DDH Pseudo Sue first came in, haven't bought any of this round because I'm not sure if there are leftovers from the previous batches mixed in. Not going to risk paying $10 for a four month old bottle.

New Hopsmack and last Pompeii both were very good , However the last DDH Sue and King Sue were average IMO.

I would say not up to par. They were still very enjoyable. Got to think we'll see inconsistencies. With that large of a brewery expansion, u got to expect it.

Well "not up to par" is average. The last batch of King Sue was not on point, when a brewery charges $12 for this bomber i do not expect inconsistencies.

Um...No it's average. I get what you're trying to say but no. Also the new brewery isn't making beer yet unless I haven't kept on my TG news, so not sure what the brewery expansion has to do with it. Cheers

I thought the last bomber of King Sue wasn't any better than some of the really good IPAs I've had from other brewers. Very disappointed. However, the latest Hopsmack and Galaxy DDH Sue have been great IMO.

And I guess I should say that the last KS I had, I would call it average. Looking at my post I wouldn't lump it in with a really good IPA.
