I was talking to the guy that runs my local beer shop, and our local AB/InBev rep told him that they are not getting any BCBCS this year due to infection. Anybody else heard this? He swore up and down it was true.

I thought the barleywine version was preemptively pulled due to a possible infection. Haven't heard anything about the regular BCBS or the rest of the series.

Was he talking about the entire series or just the regular batch?

The local distributor is telling accounts that WI is not getting any BCBCS bottles this year due to a large amount being dumped

Maybe they aren't all infected then, but just such a great amount that "smaller markets" like mine that always get it, will not be getting it this year.

Maybe they tell distributors this to make them feel better about not having enough for their accounts.

I live in Illinois, and the local distributor gets a lot of cases of it every year, so I highly doubt they are just "not getting it" this year. There must be something up

The great Bourbon County panic of 2017.
2014 - Very few accounts are getting Vanilla Rye (it was all over)
2015 - Very few accounts are getting Rare (it was all over)
2016 - No one is getting Coffee because they dumped a bunch, it is all going to be pasteurized and not be good anymore, last year it was infected...
2017 - No one is getting Coffee because they dumped a bunch.

I heard the 2018 is infected too.

In addition, I heard the tweaked recipe for the 2019 batch was written on paper that was exposed to somebody who drank the infected 2015s, so it's going to be dumped as well.

My sister in law heard from a rep's boyfriend that due to all the infection issues & rumors, GI is going to change the name of the beer from BCS to "Perfect Vision" in 2020 & hope for the best. Though I'm hearing that someone with a grudge against Anheuser-Busch has already been not washing his hands & repeatedly fingering every barrel in the warehouse he can find with "Perfect Vision" stamped on it.

Don't even get me started about the 2021. That disaster might bring the beer world to its knees.

Not that I believe any of these rumors, but one would think that GI took serious steps to prevent another debacle like 2015.

I am happy to take all supposed infected bottles free of charge, just post me if you think you have a bad one and I will take the risk of drinking them.

They are flash pasteurizing Bourbon County and did last year as well.

They pasteurize as they bottle and that prevents infection. It does not fix already infected beer. They test before pasteurization, and dump if infected.
