Me having a difference in opinion does not make me a troll. If you want me to stop feeding stop replying. I actually stopped but someone replied so i replied. And first off I wasn't the first to criticise BCBS actually someone else mentioned other barrel stouts being better and I wanted to show my support on that claim.

This is where it all started, I just showed my support to his claim.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm reading this correctly the only BCBS you've ever had is one bottle of 2017? And you're in here arguing that the beer isn't the same as it used to be? Ok bro.

Look my point on that is I wanted to be taken away on every sip. I wanted it to live up to the hype. I've had better barrel aged stouts. I wanted BCBS to be better. To me it wasn't. So with everybody's criticism to my analysis I thought I had a bad batch. I have support for that being there is a 14.1% abv version and a 14.7%. I already said I'm having the 14.7% this weekend perhaps that'll change my opinion as maybe that different batch will wow me. But BCBS to me didn't live up to it's hype. Plus other people who had it in past said best was in 2009. I see that coming up on a lot of threads.

He's also arguing that he has a great pallet, despite:
    1. Him going against all ratings and being the first to seem KBS "Like licking the barrel"
    2. BCBS being "watered down."
    3. His wife hating Strong Bourbon flavors but easily drank the entire BCBS.
    4. He replies to ever single person with an verbally vomit filled post, usually saying the same thing over and over again.

    Definition of troll.

You guys, it turns out we were all wrong. I finally looked at the November Cellar thread, and boy if it isn't damning evidence that BCBS falls off after 3 years. See here. <where is that sarcasm font>

I'm going to take my 2012-2014 bottles to Goose Island and I'm sure I'll get a refund since it says I can age them up to 5 years. <more sarcasm font>

No not definition of a troll. I stated my opinion and got attacked. Was told BCBS is not on same level as KBS, Black Note, Boulevard Whisky Barrel stout, etc. and I beg to differ. You forget I liked this beer. A troll would just hate on it and give it a 1 on the rating scale. I on the other hand don't consider it the greatest beer on the planet like many of you do. Yes i found BCBS to be watered down, yes I have a great palate which I also believe many of you do too. I believe all palates are different so me saying KBS is like "licking the barrel" you can't say I'm wrong if that's how I felt. My wife doesn't like bourbon barrel stouts yet she liked BCBS this is all true. I agree BCBS was very smooth but I wanted more bourbon in it. We live in a democracy to have difference in opinion. If everyone felt the same way, tasted the same things same way, etc we would live in a very boring world. What really pissed me off with a lot of you snobby "high nosers" is you think BCBS is some God of beers and then bash something like Boulevard Whisky Barrel stout and say "it's a drain pour" see one cost $5 a bottle the other sometimes $20 although I got mine for $10.50 and if you paid $20 you're kind've stupid, sort've like a person paying $1,000 for TG KBBS, I mean it's just beer. But if I pay $5 for a Boulevard Whisky Barrel stout instead of $10+ for a BCBS and the taste isn't much different and easier to obtain and not chase for it then I'll go for the former. And that truly is my point. Not a troll just have a difference in opinion and I will defend my stance. But yes for the record I liked BCBS.

Look dude, you can not like BCBS, you can love it, you can think its just ok - frankly I don't give a damn - taste is taste. What I take umbrage to is you posting on here that the beer isn't what it used to be and that you had a bad batch - you've had it once so you cannot speak to it "not being what it was" or "having a bad batch" - As someone who has had BCBS every year since 2008 and at various points of aging - I will say that I prefer some years to other years - '11 may be my all time favorite, '09 and '14 were sublime and you know what? '15 might be my second favorite vintage - but drinking them blind I can honestly say the whole "this beer isn't what it used to be before the sale" is bull. Or, maybe I just don't have the taste buds that allow someone to taste independence in a beer. As for a bad batch, unless it was infected and you can verify it was infected (1), then you can't tell if it was a bad batch - maybe thats just how BCBS tastes and you don't like it. You have no reference point to compare it to.

    1) THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL - I AM NOT IMPLYING ANY INFECTIONS IN 2017 BCBS

Maybe he is a troll, maybe he isn't. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt on here.

I have no idea what this discussion is about, but if Boulevard Whiskey Barrel Stout is being maligned I feel compelled to speak up for it. It’s damn good. Way better than I thought it would be. As far as year round BA imp stouts go, for my palate, WBS>Dragon’s Milk>CW Bourbon Barrel Stout.

Hey you're right but with how fantastic people consider this beer I didn't see it. So my only thing to go on is what I've read and comparing other bourbon barrel beers. I found other bourbon beers to be better but for how much people like this beer truthfully I wanna like it and I'm giving it another go this weekend in which case my opinion might change.

Nasty. It sounds like you just want hot wet hype flavors.
There's more to a barrel aging program than that. Much more.

No one is maligning Boulevards's whiskey barrel stout. Also CW BBS is not year round. Lucky you if you can find it year round!

We've all been there! There are plenty of highly rated beers that I don't care for - I drink what I enjoy regardless of ratings and I'm happier for it!

Wasn't sure if anyone was, but the tone of some of the recent posts made it seem like someone was. That's what the "if" was for. Thanks for the clarification on CW BBS. Since CW isn't local to me and we only get the barrel-aged stuff distributed here, I haven't really paid attention to their brewing schedule. BBS just seems to pop up now and then.
