Same as last year, just a different design. Hope that helps!

Can you still use the 2017 growler? Or do they insist on purchasing the 2018?

I would say don’t get it. There is very little difference in price between a bottle and a growler fill. 2 if my 3 fills were flat the next day so that’s a potential issue.
If a crowler is an option that’s going to be your best option.

apparently the 2018 HS growlers are sold out so I hope they don't insist on them... @BruerJoel

I wonder if they could tell us where Joel ranks on username mentions compared to anybody else on BA.

I am still kind of amazed by the emails I am getting about allocation purchases as a DC society member. Makes me not want to buy beers on this first round because it's very confusing when I might get them.

Why do I have a deadline to email them that I want my purchases shipped to DC? How is that not the default? I cant even imagine a scenario that someone wants included beers to arrive in DC, but wants to pay for additional beers and use CA pickup or use flex shipping for CA only shipping.

I think that the reason for the e-mail is that you might want to wait to fill up a box before you pay to have it shipped, especially if you buy only a few bottles a month.

Haven't tried this years but SitR peach has always been a no brainer for me.

But I don't have to pay for shipping! Although after reading what you just said I think I understand now: they don't have enough room to store everyone's purchases indefinitely in DC, so if I ask for it to be sent to DC I need to pick it up in 45 days or whatever. This is nbd for me because I drive by Union Market practically daily, but if someone joined but lives in New Jersey, they might wait to accumulate tons of beers before driving several hours to pick up a load.

Exactly. They'll ship it when you're ready to go get it, but not before. That's my plan, a trip every 8 weeks or so.

It wouldn't be a Bruery thread without complaints about wax. Seriously, this needs to die. Their wax cuts easier, faster, and safer than anyone else's and there's literally no possibility of injury or difficulty opening a waxed bottle unless you truly are a moron.

Then they get rid of some waxed bottles that people have cried about being hard to open and catch hell for not making those bottles cool enough to have wax.

    Sheesh.

Not complaining about wax at all, was praising the opener. Was using a churchkey to carve it away before, not hard but took care not to slip. New opener is nice.

No need to look for griping that isn’t there. Sheesh.

Looks like Chocolate Rain is coming in at 19.5% this year compared to 19.6% last year. Pretty excited to taste Chocolate Salty BBLs this year. Hopefully it comes out next month.

Babies have no place in breweries. I go to breweries to get away from children, even though the majority of them are adult babies.

Thanks for your help and I’m going to need another job. I can’t afford all this beer and I’m still in January.

Max SitR with peaches, absolutely. Best Peach sour I've had. In the finish, the Peach comes out even more. Fantastic.

PB and jelly.... Jelly over powers the pb. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Excellent, for sure.

PiPO bruesicle... Not as good as the first bruesicles i had. PiPO is pretty sour, but still tasty.

    The other bruesicle already kicked.
