I have not seen this in Illinois.

Where in IL? I've gotten 6-packs at Binny's for 6.99.

After my initial positive feeling about this beer, towards the end of the 12 I'd much rather have some Boston Lager for just a few more dollars.

Interestingly enough I actually grew more fond of this as the 12 wore on . . .

For me it had a bit of an abrasive graininess that I didn't love. But I'd still drink one or even regular Bud if you put one in front of me.

You must have...I've bought quite a bit of this stuff, and at $7.99/sixer, I thought it was excellent (in fact, it's kind of sad to note that it was actually a LOT better than the beer most local "craft" brewers are turning out).

One store I frequent still has 2 cases left, I'll probably grab one of them tomorrow.
If AB-I kept this around, I'd probably buy quite a bit of it...unfortunately, this will evidently disappear like the excellent Bud American Ale did.:slight_frown:

Not only is it better that some craft product, but it's better that some highly rated craft product I've read about on this site that I have tried. It's just a very, very good lager.

I bought a twelve pack for about $15 at a cigarette store. It was alright but for some reason AB seems to have a fear of bitterness. Too sweet in my opinion, just like all their crafty beers. I thought the American Ale was better. IMO batch 19 was the best macro produced in recent memory. I was just disappointed it seemed to be only available in six packs.

This has been sitting at my local store for a couple month's now. Reduced to $5.99 a six. Guess I should try it for the price.

You should, found it in Louisiana for around $7 and was looking for a good throwdown beer during the day, and it fit the bill. Not a big amber person, but probably one of the better ones I have had

This sat in our local stores for months, didn't seem to be selling, then suddenly gone. I wonder if retailers sent it back. I had hoped to cut a single from the herd, bit never found one.

    I disagree. Strongly.
I think it was a very solid offering! I wish it were still available...I'd buy it over most of the "local" offerings here in the Garden State.
Of course, I didn't really expect it to get very much respect, however, simply because it was an AB/In-Bev product (Beer nerds are funny that way).

I really don't care who makes it when it comes to tasting, I believe all beers speak for themselves and tried four out of the six pack before writing a review. Persistence on my part really, just wanted to make sure I hadn't overlooked something and didn't want to post off a first impression. Taste is personal of course, I like broccoli but my son won't eat it at all no matter how finely chopped and hidden in a casserole.

I bought a six whenever it hit NJ and had one bottle left at a house I'm selling and see that AB's "Freshest Before" date on it is "28 JAN 18" so I'd guess that most of it around the country is at or nearing AB's shelf life period and will be picked up automatically by their distributors.

Which Binny's did you find it at?

If you find a store with more than you need, please let me know. An old family friend has been wanting to try it but he's not really the right age for hunting all over the city.

Please share -- which Binny's? The last time I was in the Buffalo Grove store they didn't have it and like Rollmeaway, I haven't seen it anywhere in Northeastern Illinois or Southeastern Wisconsin.
