What do you do when someone sends you a mix six of beer they brewed. Well first you fuss over it. Then you drink it, review it and pair it with foods. Congratulations @JackHorzempa on your best case yet. Each beer was an exemplar of the style and world class in every sense and meaning of that phrase. This one was outrageous! I decided that yours was a trappist version of the style because it is dry enough to be medium or moderately dry. The mouthfeel is medium and not full like the abbey variation and that is due in part to some sweet bubbles. The beer poured copper and terribly clear. A few bubbles to rise nonchalantly to the top to meet a beige head of Belgian style foam that fell clinging and shimmering. Nose is a touch of sweet dark raisins, a bit of vibrant plum and dried dates. generous toasty malt with a hint of sweetness that doesn't quite reach the flavor of caramel. It simply underscores the beer lightly and sweetly. No alcohol on the palate at all. No hop presence, peppery phenols and a sweet wafting from an ester from alcohol. I could drink this beer all day and I thank you for sending me another great sixer! Food pairings are cheese, gingerbread and gingerbread cake, turkey soup with brown rice and herbs and mushrooms pair with this beer! So do my whole wheat crackers and some cantonese beef dishes as well as yankee pot roast or as I call it beouf with thyme and smoked ham.

    Cheers BA's!

You are correct, Maria. Jack is the best home brewer I've ever had the pleasure to sample!

Horrible smell, but very nice, tart and zesty citrus taste.

Starting out like yesterday with some Imperial cup of Joe

Trying to save my remaining BP High Westies VAS for a later time (crying)..
Why can’t beers like this be available to me year round ? Price point being a partial factor

Probably going to try a different brew line up today and await a great B.B. game at 4:30 - Nova vs Xavier

    Chillin for now

“I’m in Love for the First Time...and I’m sure it’s ‘gonna Last...”...from yesterday’s care package from the frozen mid-west - Revolution’s “Deth’s Tar”, a BBA Stout weighing in at 14.8% and canned 11/10/17:

Am I drinking BCBS? Bourbon chocolate fudge cocoa nibs oak vanilla boozy but not hot smooth silky luxe feel cocoa powder/barrel dryness w/out the barrel bite rich w/out feeling adjuncty. I don’t think I could tell the difference btw the two brews...well done Revolution!

And a shout out to my trading partner @Number1Framer you are the best!

Love that stuff - better than BCBS for me - and it's maybe their best batch of the regular Deth's Tar ever that I can remember. If you can get your hands on some Café Deth as a trade - try to do that. Unless you have a "controversial" opinion about coffee in beer. In which case, don't look at me. Just don't.

Beer meant to honor the Coast Guard (it's name is the translation of Semper Paratus the motto of the Coast Guard). Grabbed 6 of these 4.8% abv American Pale Ales for tonight, and could not be more excited! Described by the brewery as:
A juicy, Northeast Pale Ale. With the addition of wheat and oats for a medium body and with brilliant aromas of tropical fruits like pineapple, mango, and citrus zest, this lush hop-bomb is Always Ready.

LOL! I (almost) always keep my “controversial” opinions to myself. I’m told the Cafe Deth and the Cherry are quite dear and currently a “hard” trade. Cheers!

Cherry DT was very good, but it did not touch Café version this year (again, my controversial opinion). My wife and I were there at Rev Brew for release day, where they had a crazy salted plum flavor that was pretty damn awesome. They didn't can that, alas.

One of the few breweries I’ve been to in the Midwest - Revolution rocks it! A salted plum sounds awesome.
