I’m drinking my 2nd Dead Men on Holiday, splitting with my buddy, holy shit. Even better. What a beer!

Just dropping in to add to the chorus of praise -- had a can of Dead Men this weekend; thought it was one of the best I've had so far in 2018, which is saying something considering how many outstanding beers in this style are being released across the country on a near-daily basis.

Super sad that this won't be brewed out of Thimble. Those releases were 15 minutes away from me and DMOH was one of the best brews they've done there bar none.

I’m sorry for the disappointment. It’s a matter of logistics for me. I have to commute 4+ hours round trip to brew at Thimble, whereas now I will be brewing 15 minutes from home, and can release the beer in our primary market.

Understood--just sour grapes on my behalf after trying that first beer and taking the proximity for granted. I'm glad you found something so convenient, so congratulations and good luck! I'm sure I'll be drinking more of your stuff in the future, even if it it's a little tougher to get.

    Dope. Hope all works smoothly!

Also hope you find a good spot for the brewery on the south shore. While I wish it was in Nassau, a quick ride on Ocean Pkwy wont kill me!

will this be another flash in the pan.. .meaning great beer now... demand soors... place expands to meet demand and quality diminishes... seen that model time and time again the past few years

Given the experience and background, one could argue that Anthony and Ryan have a pretty good understating of how this game is played. So, hopefully not…

I’m dead set on not expanding past a point that would prevent my hands from being on everything. I’m in this to brew, not to sit behind a desk.

awesome to hear! Wish more had that mentality, kudos to you and i wish you all the success in the world

^I've seen places be open for 6 months and it go from awesome beer to shit... doesn't take long these days.. once something becomes the new thing and demand is through the roof seems some places can't stomach to know that if they made more oz's they could make more $ so they attempt to make more oz's and the beer suffers.

It's awesome xenjoiii came on here and responded with his desire to have a hands on to everything.. thats boss

I'm grateful to have tried dead man on holidae as it one of the best ipas I've had as of late... With The quality root and branch are producing they will succeed and hopefully expand their distribution

Distribution is hard to gauge at our age, considering the volume of beer we aim to produce once our brewery is running. I will say, expanded/wide distribution is something we’re not interested in. Outside of Long Island, we hope to be able to supply our favorite accounts in NYC, and on occasion send beer to Philly, VT and Boston. We’ll see how things go.

Didn't see this posted here, but it's a good read:

@xenjoiii -- appreciate the candor you displayed in this interview. Really enjoyed hearing your perspective on "collaboration" as well. I often wonder how motivated these LIC/OH/Monkish/etc. collaborative IPAs are true creative collaborations vs. marketing ploys... Anyway, best of luck!
