Just got the Figleaf Iso-Hazy and Inculpatory. Trying the latter right now - horrible attempt

Unfortunately. Every beer I've had from them, I either couldn't finish or it was hard to finish.

Anyone think we should make a Masthead thread? Every other brewery doing these releases has one, it seems. Got to have a can of the Extra! Extra! they're releasing this weekend and it was by far the best they've put out yet. Monkish-level IMO.

That is tremendously high praise. How'd you manage the sneak peak can?

Are they going to have labels come release day?

I think they're probably deserving of their own thread at this point. Mostly because they're on a solid release schedule now and don't seem to be slowing down, plus they've put out a lot of great stuff lately. That Hazelnut Underverse yesterday was probably even better than when they had it at the anni party.

It is high praise, but I really thought it was superb. My boyfriend cans for them, so he just takes them off the line!

Yes, the labels weren't in last week when they canned them so they had to go back and label them this week.

That's great to hear about the Underverse. Love all the variations they're putting out. Maybe I'll go ahead and start a thread then!

    By all means!

Their steady production increases are impressive to me, particularly with the style they're doing. At this point, regarding frequency of release, they're pretty close to already passing up Hoof, if they haven't already.

Just made it! Let me know if I'm missing anything.

I'm glad I don't have to drive out to Hoof for beer anymore. Only thing I'm disappointed about is no beer shares at Masthead, but I'll live.

I just saw Market Garden is releasing a NEIPA tomorrow called Triple Helix. Never in a million years expected it from them since I was straight up told "we will never make one."

Seems like a lot of breweries are eating those words lately...

Yeah... It's funny how that works, isn't it? It's one thing to start brewing them (no biggie), but for these guys to hate on it for so long until they see how successful everybody else is with them. Then the story changes. Jackie-O's a prime example. Market Garden... Just waiting for Fat Heads now, who is against the style as well.

I remember... But not a one off batch, something a bit more substantial.

I mean, if a brewery that is "known" for rejecting NE IPAs okays the brewing of an NE IPA, no matter where, I think the toothpaste is out of the tube. The name of the beer alone suggests they were plenty conscious of their previous stance on the sub-style. Once is enough for me, and that was a half year ago.

Not to mention, they're okay with completely ruining Hop Juju by pouring orange juice into it. I think that's far more flagrant a party foul than making a hazy IPA that gets it's "juiciness" from yeast and hops...

    @Djc

Given their description: "This beer was double dry hopped with some of our favorite American hop varieties to push the flavor and aroma over the top."

I would assume it would be very close to Double Fleeb, which also shares a similar description...

"Expect more of that juicy character from some of our favorite new age American-grown hops"

No exotic southern hemisphere hops (Galaxy, Vic Secret, Nelson), so the likely just the typical Centennial, Citra, Citra and Mosaic most likely... Which makes sense, as it will probably take a few years until Masthead can contract more (enough) exotic hops.

Thanks. Yeah I was not sure if it would be like fleeb or not but that would make sense
