They get enough hate in OH and I definitely can't stand a lot from the business side of things, but every time I walk into that place and look at the taplist, I'm reminded that it beats 90% of the breweries I've been to in the country on any random day of the week.

Guess there's a fuck ton of Cantillon at Lizardville Westerville today--had I known earlier I would have been all over that. Fou, Vigneronne (my fave), Kriek...looks like some Cascades too

My hope is for Steel Dawn bottles + they secretly built a tap room that is now open for business.

    Self-Quote FTW!

Gotta be a saison or ipa this time of year. I’m going with the peach that they medaled with at the World Beer Cup because of the “Odyssey” mention.

    Thank you @WesMantooth !

But our Steel Dawn bottles are in another castle!

....I'm thinking that Name-TBD Peach Sour is a great guess. I wonder if they are resisting the urge to name it Peachtrick Sourwayze.

Hop Odyssey was a series of beers they did a handful of years back. They did it for 2 years. A different hoppy beer a month for 12 months, draft only. It has nothing to do with Nintendo or Princess Peach, or at least it didn't in it's original incarnation.

I think it was the birth of a few of theirs that still come around today. Creeper, Uncle Rusty, Grasshoppa, Lucy.

IIRC they got hit with a cease and desist letter from Green Flash over the use of the name Hop Oydessy, so it got set aside. Green Flash just went out of business, now CBC's Hop Odyssey is back. Coincidence?

There you go ruining my day...
I actually remembered the Odyssey in relation to Green Flash, but apparently missed the CBC version. Of course, I miss a lot of the draft only stuff in the beer black hole I live in.

I found an old flyer for the Hop Odyssey a while back and posted it in the 2017 Ohio thread.

I don't remember for certain if 2010 was the first year, I think it was. So the last year for it would have been 2011. There's a lot of recognizable beer names there on that list, many of them have undergone quite a bit of tweaking and fine tuning over the years.

I hope the return of the Odyssey is as good as it used to be, but I've not heard any details about what they are even planning.

Three Tigers still has their Cinnamon Raisin French Toast flowing. IMO this is the best brew they've ever done and it's legit amazing. Give it a go if you're in the area.

Thirsty Dog's event this evening at their new location in Akron was worthwhile. The Rye Siberian and BA Doppel were worth the visit, but the BA Coffee Siberian is still stealing the show--it's definitely the best BA coffee stout in Ohio IMO, by a huge margin. Looks like all of these will still be available tomorrow as well. Being able to order decent food at a Thirsty Dog taproom is a huge bonus.

We did the Hop Odyssey first. Green Flash then came out with theirs. Eric spoke with GF (their founder/owner Mike is a D-bag), but nothing came of it. We didn't plan on doing it again and surely didn't have $ for attorneys at the time...so we let it be.

@tcorder219 Will the Wanderer be a one batch and done? It sounds like a new version every 3 months or so. Will it be packaged a few times in that three month span or just one batch and done? How much hitting distribution, similar to when Bodhi just hit distribution in bottles?

Could not agree more on the Bent Tree Siberian Night. Unbelievable beer. Was really trying to get there last night, but ran outa time. It's amazing to me how little hype their BA stuff gets.

I had the Bent Tree at their Flats location. Good beer, but $15 for a snifter might dissuade some people from buying

The pricing in the flats is asinine, not just for Thirsty Dog. Just a horrible setup in the flats, where everything is destined to fail and much already has.
