Interesting. They seem to suggest that they'll ship anywhere and that it's the responsibility of the buyer to comply with the state law where the beer will be shipped. Not sure that's going to hold up.

 

Nice plug for your new Shopify site. I hope you have a license for shipping alcohol otherwise it is a felony to ship across state lines- for you.

Traders ship alcohol all the time on a one-off basis, taking the risk themselves, not sure if that is a business tactic to go off of. I think for beer you even need/required to go through a beverage distributor in the US, this is likely why places like the Bruery doesn’t ship outside CA for their membership club. Wineries are able to ship because of some stipulation that differentiates them from the regular US alcohol distribution model.

Be careful man, starting a busiensss isn’t something you just “do”, you’ve got to think out every angle ahead of time. I would imagine you will get a few sales and then quickly run into trouble trying to circumnavigate established beverage distro mafia- erm, excuse me, I meant to say “sound and completely fair” licensing monopolies for alcohol shipping/distribution . (Source: I’m a business consultant).

 

I'm not sure a legit "shop" would be selling 2015 BCS. Definitely makes me wonder if the folks behind the site know what they're doing.

 

"Good". I had three bottles outside of the infected dates, & all three were garbage. I've heard similar tales from others that live near me. And one would think if they were selling bottles where some were known to be infected, they'd let any potential sellers know which dates they have.

I would say that if they can ship to you within CA then shop away. Anyone outside of CA I would recommend contact the shop over the phone to verify that they can ship to your state outside of CA.

That said, the site has a ‘15 Abyss up for sale which reminded me I have a ‘10 which is nearly 8 years old and needs drinking ASAP!

 

Im willing to buy something for science, to see if they will actually ship to the east coast. Ill report back with my findings

 

Reporting back, I ordered a BCBS Northwoods and a 2015 BCBS , they showed up this morning. Packaged quite well, and it was even 2-day priority shipped so it made if for cali to PA in 2 days. So they are legit, buy something now if you want it before they shut it down haha

 

Really didn't see anything too special. I would love to see some deal with the devil pop up on a site like that.

This was mentioned above. I think the general sentiment is that their policy is not legal. That is, if someone wanted to prosecute, that statement wouldn't hold water.

 

Received a text message notification that it went out 4 days after ordering. Received a 2nd text this past Wednesday saying it was 'out for delivery and would arrive soon.' Received it yesterday followed by a final text telling me it was delivered. Packed well and all was as expected. Was getting worried for a minute, but it did show up and via regular USPS which seems risky.
