    Great article, sorry I missed it before.

    “You are in a German bar … get over it.” Perfect.

    All of the older bars mentioned were spots I always frequented in my younger days. Resi's has a great beer garden, Laschet's has a terrific kitchen... all aside from the great beer lists, of course.

    Very good article.

    Laschet's is one of my favorite bars in the city, period, and Huettenbar would be neck-and-neck if they served food. Resi's is always a great time as well, and Dovetail being really close to all of them just makes for an excellent night out. Long live German beer culture in Chicago!

    I miss the Mirabell. Great food, beer, and circuses.

    Did they re-close? They had stayed open after announcing they'd close (limited hours, IIRC), but I hadn't heard they were closing again.
